never thought i'd say this but
well as anyone who knows me will know i've talked a lot of shit on what was formerly the indy racing league or irl and is just called indycar. you all know about the split and "reunification" and if you don't than look it up. and now they've let fucking tony george the man who ruened openwheel back in. but one of the things they do do is post races for free download. you can get a podcast of every izod indycar series race for that year and if you go to youtube you can watch old races. now as everyone should know i love watching old races. so thank you indycar for putting races up for free. and thanks to the others who do it. now if you guys could get rid of tony george and maybe hang him that would make me so damn happy. tony if you're reading this you're a fucking asshole and you need to wear a shirt that says i killed indycar on it. fuck off you old pile of dogshit. oh and vision racing sucked. a.j the 400000000000000th couldn't drive for shit and the same goes for special ed. okay enough ranting. punk review coming.

psycho 2010 7 ep
ah yes psycho. the same psycho who recorded with gg allin and did the 8 song ep are back. if you don't know psycho after the 8 song ep they got harder and harder and i think better and better. this record looks sharp. i mean it's cut into a saw and is actually pretty sharp. i don't know but i think 500 were made of this. i never know pressing info cause i really don't care. anyway the music is what you'd expect from psycho. 4 fast gritty songs with no regard for playing well. just the way i like it. they even do a gg cover. check it out to find out which one it is.

Redd Kross - Red Cross
i forget how they spell their name now. anyway la sure had some really good bands unlike now when it's all shit pop punk. actually i have heard some good new street punk from la but i've also heard some real shit bands. anyway awesome as hell la beach punk with the dude from circle jerks on guitar though i don't know if he plays on this record. also i know ron from black flag played drums one time. a little note. the circle jerks stole the guitar rif from cover band and used it on live fast die young on the first lp. hmm. i wonder why. anyway this ep is real short so it really should be on a 7 but whatever. this ep was actually included on a few compilations and it's been reissued a few times. what i love about this is they are so young. i mean listen to those backing vocals. they're just kids! not really to much to say on this one. get it and enjoy or die! i also have the first lp produced by the singer of rf7 zach's favorite band. i'll review that too. it's slightly different but still very good. see ya.

look blue go purple compilation cd
this is a discography of the amazing all girl pop band look blue go purple. if you don't like this your weird. i'm not sure how to put their sound into words. it's kind of a mix of girly pop with weird almost new wave sound. i don't think that's a good description. zach? any thought on the sound? this discography is fucking amazing. but it has it's little problems. at first i didn't want this because the title made it seem like it was one of those best of things. plus the tracks aren't in order i don't think. it really doesn't matter though. this is a musthave for anyone who like me is a sucker for those female vocals. get it however you can. i'm not sure what label it's on but find it damnet! fave tracks are grace, 100 times, i don't want you anyway and of corse cactus cat. actually the whole album just rocks. oh and on a side note' thanks zach for the tape of the thfs demo. there's one more person i want to thank but i'll save that for when i review his stuff. you know who you are. anyway more coming up so make sure you keep checking back.

the freeze live from cape cod 1980 lp
this is the fuckin freeze. you know what i'm saying? this record was recorded at the cape cod club in 1980. now as we know that by 1980 they were not hardcore. they were just punk. i don't know if this was recorded before or after the band's first 7 but it's the same kind of punk. what i liked about this one is they still sound like the freeze. even at this early stage they were still amazing. and some of the songs are early versions of songs that would be on later albums. you should all get this. i mean it.

baby shakes s/t lp
well i don't want to sleep so let's put on some powerpop and review a record. sounds good to me. baby shakes are a pop group of i think three girls and a rotating drummer thing going on. this was put out in 08 i think. it's great powerpop done right. what more do i need to say? the first track doesn't get you ready for the album. it just dives right in. not much more i can really say. i don't want to spoil the fun. if you like powerpop you need to get this and i mean now. and if anyone from the band stops by could you give some info on where to get this? it's like all the records i review. you need to get them all. just not level. do not get that one. this one is a must though. i'll be back with another review later.

The Underlings - Vice Squad 7"
this is for ed wherever you are. he gave me this record in october along with the gw testpress. i reviewed the gw 7 a long time ago so let's start on this one. now if you'll remember i reviewed the underlings cd and said how great this band is. well get ready for more of the same. the first song vice squad is a killer poppy song with great lyrics and ed's great voice. the other two on hear are faster but just as good. i'm not sure what 2nd best is about but i think it's talking about christians. i could be way wrong. that song is sung by the band's bassest who also has a really good voice. the third song is black white which is the fastest song on the record. again a really good song with great vocals and great lyrics. then it's over and you want to play it again. you need to own this along with the cd. don't just get one or the other. you need both. this band is one of the best new bands around and i'm not just saying that. listen to them. it's cool how they don't fit in one genre. actually if you ask me to describe them i'd say really melodic punk. yes it's punk. anyway get this now.

beasts/misery addict split 7
well first off thank you for all the comments. really means a lot to me. now let's get on with this review. first off i'd like to say this shouldn't have taken this long to do. andrew of misery addict emailed me in november with this record. i couldn't go on the net though and so it sat until january. however i'm still having trouble with mediafire so i emailed zach of hardcore punk reviews asking for help. being the great guy that he is zach helped me by putting the zip file on archive.org. well i downloaded it. and my computer crashed. i was sure i deleted it so i was about to send andrew another email. but first i did what you should always do. i looked in the trash. sure enough the email was sitting waiting for me to open it. to make a long story long i have it now. so why don't we get on with this review. this is a great way to do a split. what they did is have both bands do two songs then put one song by each band on one side. so you hear both bands on both sides. that's the way it should be done. now onto the music. first up is beasts. they're kind of metallic and technical. i really like the two songs they have. some people are put off by the screamed vocals but i like them. and then there's misery addict. you know the saying save the best for last? well they did on this split. now i love beasts. and i looooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeee misery addict. not that fast but still hc. some people don't like how many times the singer says fuck. well i say grow the fuck up! i don't get offended by anything. i can't say that this sounds like anything else but i like that on the last song you can hear a bit of melody. really good split. word of advice to anyone putting together a split. have two different sounding bands on it. that's why this split works so well. both bands have their own sound. everyone should get this. i hear you can order off misery addict's site but i guess they've never really shipped out of the uk. they're cool guys so they'd probably try to do it. maybe the band won't care if someone puts a link to a download in the comments. hope to hear more from both bands. enjoy this awesome split with two of the uk's finest new bands.
