lysergabolic mnexobile sylophetamol burnt toast cd
what a long title. well this is bishop's first record he wrote. a little different from what i'm used too, this is not punk, metal, or even rock. this is a dance record. yes, i like a dance record. interesting melody and some interesting song ideas. the songs range from 5 second blasts to 8 minute long epocs. i don't know anything about dance records but i'm guessing this is a good example of one. if someone was gonna ask me what to start with in the dance genre first of all i'd wonder why of all people would you ask me. then i'd give them this 49 track album. i beleive you can get this for free on last.fm. oh and the name. bishop swares it was on a pill bottle (one wonders what kind of pills he was taking) though i've googled it and can't find anything. could be that i just misspelled it it's so damn long. i don't know that much more about the writing and making of this album. bishop maybe will have more info. i do know that this is a fun listen.

pantera the great southern trendkill lp
i'm just gonna warn you from thestart. if you're a pantera fanboy/fangirl do not read this. ah....pantera. the glam band who wanted to do something moe than play ride my rocket and latest lover. shame, really. this album starts off with a scream by seth putnam (of anal cunt fame) and this turns out to be one of the few plesent moments of a record that is nothing but groove metal and tough guy wanking. i used to love pantera. back in middle school i thought they were the shit. when i was introduced to thrash death and black metal (not to mention heavy metal) they just fell out of favor. i like the early albums (the ones that don't officially exist haha) but after that it's all downhill. i will give them one thing. they braught a lot of new people into metal including the coadmen of this blog who will probably have some nasty responce to this review. back to the music. i used to love dimebag's riffs and solos. listening to them now it's just a big yon. rex's bass is okay i guess. vinny is a pretty good drummer. he knows what he's doing i guess. which brings me to phil. his voice sounds like a cross between the dude from hatebreed and some sludge metal band. this is the album that really put his voice on the tough guy hc map. other albums had it too but this one tips the scale. i don't like the whole tough guy world. i never did. maybe that's why i don't like his voice. the music is fun to listen too sometimes if i'm bored but that's about it. i'm not one of these all groove metal sucks kind of people. i love chaos a.d. and roots, and all the other cavalera records. i like later slayer (god hates us all and the like) so i do not hate all groove metal. i even like lamb of god. i just don't much care for pantera. this isn't meant to piss anyone off. this is just my honest opinion of an album. oh and floods sucks and goes nowhere. this band is simply not for me. i used to like it when i was 11-14 but i grew out of it. maybe someday i'll rediscover it. ps bishop, feel free to curse me out in the comments section

sex dwarf demo
well here's a treat for all you punks. this is per of filthy christians' new band. this is a rager from a to z. raw as hell production and per's unmistakable vocals make this probably the second best release of 2012 (sorry but the underlings is unbeatable) i'm usually not much for new punk. i tend to regard it as borring. but this kicks so much ass it's criminal. these swedish dudes really know how to rock! you can check them out at http://sexdwarf.bandcamp.com. be on the lookout for more by this band who is my favorite new punk band. oh and i'll be taking a week off starting thursday as i'll be on vacation so i'm gonna give you as many posts as i can

malice at the whiskey live review
well i just saw 7 bands and i'm not putting a label for each one. just a little heads up. don't like it? too bad. anyway i was out and about tonight going to a show at the famed whiskey in southern california. the headliner was an 80s metal band called malice of which more later. first let's talk about the suport bands. first up was exterminate. i'm sad to say i missed everything but the last song. i say sorry because i really really liked what i heard and i'd like to get some recordings. hopefully someone from the band reads this and gets back to me. next up was velosity. with a name like that i expected speed and i got it. like the first band they were fast thrash and like the first band i would like to hear some recordings. next come fuckin social overload!!! for the third time. now if it wasn't for them i would have never heard about the show. and they were the best band by far. and i'm not just saying that cause they dedicated a song to me (my favorite, heavy metal hammer) they had energy and of course speed. i was beginning to think that all the bands were gonna be great. next up was dischordia. first of all the look (vests and ties) had everyone going what the fuck? but i liked em. kind of a mathcore (i hope i'm not speaking out of turn that's what i think they were) thing going on. would love to get the ep and review it. next up was steelgrave. now i don't know if it's just me but these last 3 bands had a sort of speed metal patern going and they sounded very simalar. the thing about steelgrave was i thought the singer could have been a tad more melodic. hey i love power metal haha. other than that it was really good metal. next up came heretic. i guess they have some history though i do not know it. once again more speed metal with a high piched singer. pretty good stuff. last came malice. now i'd only heard two tracks before from a compilation from 1982. and they didn't play either one! bastards! i felt kinda out of place cause i didn't know a single song. but i had fun. malice is a good band even though they have only two original members. the new singer (who's short hahaha sorry) is pretty damn good and sored over everything. i got a malice shirt but sadly no cds. what the fuck? i'd like to hear more of all these bands. over all it was a great night and social overload, thanks for being such class dudes and putting up with my fanboyish ranting

hell bovine tool of satan demo
alright, i have no idea what the fuck this is. i just got this on line. what it appears to be is a midi grindcore band from somewhere in the states. well.....we have blast beats, grind (i think) vocals, and generally some pretty interesting shit but i get the feeling i could create this. playing with midi files is fun don't get me wrong but well where's the tallent? i can make out any of the lyrics and the mix is so fuckin loud i can't hear the vocals anyway but the song titles are funny. songs like g0d is gr8t!, and get divorced on myspace. funny but not ultra stupid. i don't know get this if you like grind or midi files or just love the band name. that's probably why i downloaded it. hell bovine! the only thing better is hell dachshund! hahah inside joke. okay enough said about this demo. this is probably the most anyone's ever written about the band.

raw noise a holocaust in your home demo tape
hi kids, elliott back with another review. this time it's 1984 and english. raw noise were extreme noise terror before phil joined. in other words it's great! d-beat hardcore before it got infused with metal and became crust. 7 songs of greatness. this is honestly better than ent. some of these songs would be rerecorded for the first ent album and the raw noise split with chaos u.k. raw noise still exists and released an album 3 years ago. you kinda have to wonder why as it sounds exactly like ent. ah well. just a short one but a good one. btw bishop needs to do more posts. i've done over 400 he's done two. shame shame. hahah. anyway this is pretty known on the net so a simple google search should bring you to a link. the best one is at good bad music but however you get this doesn't matter. just do it

free will almost again cd/sun return lp
i don't know what the title is. i've seen it listed as both so i'm calling it both. that way i can't be wrong! anyway free will were a californian melodic punk band that recorded a demo in 1988 and these 10 songs. these songs were originally gonna be an lp called sun return but was never released until lost and found records released it with the other title. really good melodic punk with some great riffs and vocals. it's a da,m shame they didn't stick around longer. according to the blog i ripped this off from (hey it's obscure as fuck!) some of the members formed stone telling and rerecorded 9 of these songs for an album released in 1994. if anyone has that album get in touch. this is really great melodic punk and everyone should get it somehow. sadly the blog where i got it from has gone bust. get it somewhere. oh and nice mix as well

deceive 2011 ep cd
this band played at the anvil show. they were right after black oil (that groove band) and right before anvil. personally social overload remains the best of the openning bands for me. i love them so much i asked them to play at my house. they did. it was amazing. anyway this is a weird band. this is two studio songs and two very very very shitty live trakcs. the studio songs are pretty good quality (though worms is in mono) and musically the bands is pretty good. the vocals wile good are just too extream for the music. i talk to the singer online and he's a nice guy but i'm objective so. it sounds kinda weird to be honest. especially on worms it sounds off. the music really isn't that heavy. it's still pretty heavy but i think modern death metal vocals (the kind this guy uses) kind of overpower it. that's just my opinion. overall this is a pretty good death metal record. i want to hear more stuff by them to see how they improve. it's a good starting point. just a short one today. gotta listen to more social overload hahahaha.

the freeze misery loves company lp
well here's another one i've been sitting on this one for slightly different reasons. i got a coppy of this online but it was a really low quality version and i don't like to review things unless they're the best quality. i mean if it's a lowfy album that's fine but if it's a shitty rip of an album i'm waiting til i can find a good one. well this took me um i don't know 2/3 years (i forget) to track down. i went out to amoeba and usually they never have anything by the freeze. well they did this time. for those of you who don't know the freeze is one of my favorite hardcore bands which is why i've reviewed 5 records up til now. this is the album after rabid reaction. i don't know if they broke up or what but this album came out in 1991. you can notice a change in the music. it's a tad slower but that's about it. still the same ol freeze if a little more melodic. same dark lyrics. pouder, rock, and pills is a great one. talking bombs was my first taste of the freeze although i didn't know it. i heard a cover of the song by the unseen. the freeze's version is way better but who cares. my friend zach doesn't seem to like this one for some reason. i love it. all i need is crawling blind and a few others and i have all the albums. ah well gonna have to wait. get this if you like melodic punk. if not go fuck yourself. hey someone had to say it!

ed gein motherfucker 2006 demo
i had this for two years before i even thought about reviewing it for two reasons. one was i was reviewing so many other records that this one kinda slipped through. the second is i knew nothing about these guys. i got this from archive.org randomly. well my knolage has vastly improved within the last two minutes thanks to one blog (scumfeastmetal666.blogspot.com) so now i have a little bit of knolage (any bit of info would have vastly expanded my knolage) turns out they were a side project of a black metal band called zog. they were from chicago and were a three piece. sadly the band didn't last long as the drummer and guitarist died leaving bassest/vocalist marc broude the only surviving member. one of the more trajic storys of punk/metal. anyway on to the music! oh and i'm not gonna tell you who ed gein was look him up. anyway what we have is a 4 song blast of grindcore. sounds to me like it's more hardcore punk then metal kinda like early napalm death. egm sounds nothing like nd but you get the idea it's more on the punk scale. real short too (grindcore songs must never be long!) and really good production for a demo. nice lyrics and titles too. overall this is a pretty cool release but it's a shame they couldn't do more. i hope this lifts the band up out of total obscurity though with my blog that will never happen!

gism sonic crime therapy cd
well what have we got here? a reunion album from gism? oh boy. let's see how bad this is. except it's not. i have a generally low opinion of bands reuniting for the simple reason that it just won't sound as good as the old days. bands usually try to recreate the old days and most of the time it's pure shit. except with these japanese punks? metalheads? both? this is a fucking weird record. i mean the first one was weird wile the second one was kind of normal by gism standards. this one is just fucked. the singer hasn't lost any of his voice though it's changed a bit and he roles his rs more. the rest of the band are amazing pounding out interesting punkmetaal with some really good solos and weird shit. i can't recomend this cd enough. nice raw mix too. get this is you're a fan of weird punk metal that's not crossover but just original japanese awesomeness

bonded by blood feed the beast cd
alright. i got this last summer (i'm behind the times i know) and i really like thrash so let's delv into this. bbb are a local band from la and i may know some friends of the band. i'm fucking connected! haha. anyway first thing i have to take issue with is the name. bonded by blood is one of my favorite albums and the only exodus album i'll likely ever listen too. the album is as perfect a metal album as you can fine. so why the fuck would a band be named after something unbeatable? it's part of that retro movement that i hate so much. sorry bbb but you'll never be as good as exodus. it's like if i formed a speed metal band and called it metal on metal. i really wish they'd change the name. anyway into the music. strange mix on this. reminds me of anvil's plenty of power in the mix. sounds to digital to me. i'm not one of these people who always wants a professional mix (i listen to hardcore punk afterall) but the mix is just strange to me. also the singer gets a bit annoying after a while. it sounds like he has no control over his voice and is tone def. d.r.i already did that thank you. it's worse on the second album and i think he's out of the band. maybe i'm just an old man (ha ha) but his voice is a bit much sometimes. the music is pretty kickass thrash. about what you'd expect from an earache band (btw when the hell did earache start signing all these thrash bands? i remember when they were a punk label) not bad at all. i'm a thrash fan so i like this kind of stuff but some of my older friends won't touch it cause they see it as retrothrash. i'd have to agree with that but i like it anyway. doesn't sound too much like exodus to me (they asked for it cause of the band name) hahah. get this if you enjoy thrash with an anoying singer. then get d.r.i's post-1985 albums and compare who's more anoying?

the underlings edgy cd
hey bitches! and um not bitches. elliott is back with the best record of 2012. as many of you will remember i ranted about how i loved these guys when they released the first album and the ep. now they're back and better than ever! the music verys from sped up punk rock to poppy melodic numbers to rockers. they even have a song about a race track (written for me. well i don't know that but i'm gonna say it was) so you know it's great. ed's guitar playing and vocals are the best they've ever been and the band is great as well. i wish it was more than 10 songs as when it ends i want more and more! good job guys. great lyrics too. get this as soon as you can and remember that at least one great band still exists

larm extream noise discography cd
yeah i know you swedish readers (if i have any) will make fun of me because i don't know how to put that thing over the a. ah well. larm as you all know were from holand. they existed in the mid-1980s and put out three or 4 records. this has them all. every record is amazing thrash like you've never heard it played before. so angry, so tight, so....larm! this cd has 75 songs on it. 75 songs! it'll make you wish you'd never been born by the time you get done with it. the nothing is hard in this world tracks though have a weird guitar sound. i'm not sure if they tooned down or what. also on this is a demo song by a pre-larm band. the drummer has no drums. he uses chairs. amazing! if you're a fan of hardcore, powerviolence, grindcore, or just love extream noise (btw yes that's where extream noise terror got the name) get this and enjoy! even if you're not straightedge or left wing. it's a must own for any punk.

AC4 - AC4 (2010)
- Detonate
- Where Are The Kids
- I Wanna Go
- The Same Fight
- Assassination
- Fuck The Pigs
- I Can Do It
- Won't Bow Down
- It Catches Up
- My Condition
- Pigs Lose
- It's Over In A Second
- Let's Go To War
- Coptown
- This Is It
Let's make something clear from the get go: I don't like Refused. I don't get them, and I don't like them. Maybe I'll go through a penny drop moment, like I did with Led Zeppelin, 'tallica and Pink Floyd, but probably not. I have a feeling that I'll never like Refused.
However AC4, with half their members from Refused, I do like. Many fob them off as generic hardcore punk and, I wouldn't say this is an unfair criticism, but most people miss the most important thing here: they're damn good at writing a fun record. When did you last listen to a hardcore record that was just trying to be fun instead of make a point, or tell you to be edge, or to save the animals, or that your neighbors a cunt and you should batter them? And without answering that question, when did you last listen to a hardcore record that was just fun?
See, AC4 don't push the boat out. The longest song on this record is 1:53 (the whole record actually amounts to about 20mins). There's no breakdowns, or crazy guitar solos or bits where the music all drops out and the vocalist gives a monologue about the state of the world today and how it is doomed. I mean, maybe AC4 do have some important meaning to share, but so fuck? This is a party record. Hardcore by numbers, done bloody well and hella fun.
I was fortunate to support these guys when they did their first UK tour and dear Christ they're energetic. Dennis was twice my age and yet performed all sorts of jumps and flips and whatnot, they kept the whole room bouncing.
Or at least they would've, except it was full of cunts expecting a Refused cover or two.

slayer show no mercy lp
sorry i haven't posted in a while. i blame love. more about that later. anyway this is my favorite thrash band's first lp. you can really hear the nwobhm and speed metal influence. a far cry from the later stuff but don't think for a second that i don't like it. it may be different but it still sounds like slayer. tom's vocals are a little more melodic than the later stuff but he still has a lot of power in his voice. the drums just pound relentlessly. quite fast for 1983. it does piss me off that slayer doesn't have any demos before this album. i'd like to hear them as a cover band. if anyone has some old slayer demos get in touch! anyway this album sounds like anthrax's amazing fistfull of metal just with more adult lyrics. already by then slayer was talking about satanism. it's no wonder why this album was an underground hit. almost 30 years later it still punches you when you hear it. or at least it does to me. i'm kind of a slayer fanboy anyway so what do i know? overall it very very nice speed thrash album full of great riffs and awesome lyrics. and actualy good production!

the insults thrasher go home 7 ep
are you ready for some thrash? not thrash metal just pure thrash. this is not the kbd insults it's the one from the mid 80s. this is the bands one and only 7 which was selfreleased in 1985. ultra fast thrash in the vane of d.r.i. and the like. pretty cool. i know mrr didn't like the guitar wanking on this release. personally i don't mind it at all. i don't think this was a serious record lyrically but that doesn't matter. i heard somewhere that a few members of this band went on to the sludge band jim jones and the kool-ade kids. if anyone knows more on the subject i'd like to know as i love that band. anyway not to much to say about this one. the mix could have been better but then again that's the thing about punk if you're looking for good mixes you're in the wrong place. anyway get this however you can it'll probably never be repressed

s.o.d. bigger than the devil cd
remember when people used to comment? man those were the fucking days my friend. well anyway i'm back with another review. after s.o.d (stormtroopers of death of course) recorded speak english or die they did nothing for 14 years apart from some shows and a live album which was okay. well in 1999, anthrax sucked, m.o.d. was doing nothing, and danny lilker had no band. so what happened? these 4 guys got back together and took one more crack at it. well? never gonna be as good as speak english so i won't compare. it seems as though s.o.d. were taking influence from groove metal bands such as pantera or even later anthrax. the resulting album sounds like a tough guy metallic hardcore album like later agnostic front. billy's voice sounds like he's triing to be really heavy and tough and the guitars and bass are downtooned. charlie can still play and overall the musicianship is great it just doesn't sound original. the jokes are still plenty. my favorite is celtic frosted flakes. i do love cf but this song is classic. also king diamond ordering at burger king makes me laugh every time. and the ballads are great. this record doesn't really sound much like s.o.d. as i know them but it's worth at least downloading. s.o.d. will always to me at least be most remembered by the crab society north demo and the speak english or die album but this makes a good adition to anyone's thrash collection. as long as you're not antigroove like some of my friends you'll do fine. now shut up and thrash! and for fucks sake leave a comment! i'm not getting any reaction over here and it's pissing me off. maybe it's a sign though

municipal waste the fatal feast cd
well first of all it's the 400th post for this blog! holy satan. thanks to everyone for directly and indirectly suporting this blog. the list is too long especially the indirect part. people who don't even know my blog exists have suported me just by being themselves. love ya all. anyway this is mw's 5th album. they're not on earache any more sadly. they swiched to nuclear blast, an old hardcore punk label that's gone metal. i hear sepultura is on the label as well. anyway i'm not the biggest mw fan.. i find the music fun but unoriginal. the 4th album massive agressive was kind of a yon in thrash circles. it seemed uninspired and more serious. so what do we have this time? the intro waste in space is a weird little number completely different than anything you'd expect on an mw album. then it kicks right into repossession and it seems like the band got back the old energy and humor. songs like covered in sick the barfer? haha. the production is perfect as always. the vocalist of nuclear assault makes an appearance on one track. the band seems to enjoy what they do and they do it well. dave wit's drumming is great as always. tony sounds like his old self on this one and it's quite cool. overall this is a pretty fun crossover record. the album will be released april 10th in the states and april 13th everywhere elce. you all should buy a coppy and get it on cd don't download from itunes. get this and bang your head!

reagan youth youth anthems for the new order 12 ep
this record is a classic and i've been wanting to review this for 2 years or so. the knock on these guys was they're too punk sounding not hardcore. pothetic really. anyway 7 great songs of raw punk rock. i love the satire on this record. i guess some people didn't get it. that's just sad. great production and some of the people on this can actually play! haha. favorite tracks would be new aryans, reagan youth, degenerated, and gonowhere though the whole record rips. dave later killed himself after his mother died and his girlfriend was murdered. the rest of the band released another album called vol 2 which is not my thing. this record was reissued sort of. they took different recordings of these songs and threw in 3 new others. it's okay but you don't really need it. get the original though. this record smokes from a to z. also i'm gonna try and review more old records cause i feel i've been reviewing a lot of new stuff. i'll still do new records of course but i'm getting back to my roots bloody roots. anyway get this right fuckin now!

social overload wicked sick demo cd
everyone remember me? yeah it's been a quiet month so what? haha. anyway when i reviewed the anvil show i raved about these guys. well i finally got a coppy of the demo. and? fucking killer thrash (or speed i guess) metal from my hometown. i'm surprised i've never heard these guys before. the intro song is a killer guitar riff with some cool thrashy drums. the next song is a tad slower but still kicks ass. my favorite has to be heavy metal hammer. it was originally from the first demo and just kicks ass. not saying i don't like the other 3 tracks just when they played it i thought it was a great song. plus they were playing a gig with anvil so i was like heavy metal hammer+anvil=metal! i'm sure i was the only one to get that. the mix of this is really good except the beginning of the second song where i didn't really figure out what the singer was saying until i heard it again. other than that everything is clear and the energy is high. overall a great effert made by these young guys from southern california. not sure how you guys can get the demo but you just should. i think these guys are gonna go a long way or at least make more good music. bang your fucking head!

terrorizer hords of zombies cd
i'm back bitches! better and more profane than ever! and no one even commented. ah what's the point? *crys* but anyway i got this about a week ago uh legally of course he says laughing nervously. so what the hell do we have here? terrorizer is one of my favorite bands. i first got into them through a split demo with nausea who was the original singer's other band. terrorizer destroyed that demo. i remember listening to it at night and just thinking fuck is this cool. well anyway i really liked world downfall (thought it was a bit too clean and pollished) and hell i even liked darker days ahead. then i heard that jesse pintado, one of my heros, died. terrorizer broke up. i was shocked but thought that was a good thing to do. then when i heard they reformed with katina culture on guitar my first question was who the fuck is that? turns out she (and i have no problems with that i'm just saying) is a band mate of the singer. they have some shit crust band called resistant culture or some damn thing fuck i don't care. anyway they've reformed with the only member of morbid angel to not discrase himself, pete sandoval still on drums, david vincent also of morbid angel as if you didn't know on bass, and the two resistant culture members anthony rezhawk on vocs. so is this album any good? yes and no. it's a fun death metal grindcore album. but damnet it's just not terrorizer. rezhawk's voice is boring as usual. didn't like him on darker days ahead don't like him now. i miss oscar. the drums are typical pete mayhem and i have to say he does a really really good job on this. the bass well it's on the album? i think? and as much as i hate to say it ms. culture (wonder what her real last name is) does a pretty damn good job. i'm not comparing her to jesse because i'm sorry if you're reading this but you simply can't. but she does a pretty good job doing what she does which is play sick ass riffs. i'm glad the vocal mix is lower. anthony's lame growles are easyer to listen too without screaming shut up! same with barny greenway for me. overall if you're like a friend of mine and loved jesse then don't get this. if you want to see what they sound like now get it. if you like straightforward deathgrind god i hate that term! then get this. overall not bad just not amazing. ah well. coming soon, new napalm death and nausea's one and only lp. pretty good shit too

takin a break
i don't know when i'll be back but i'm taking a break. i cannot review heavy records at this point in my life right now. i just don't have the fire for punk or metal at this point. i'm pretty worryed about this. i've never felt this way. i shall be back soon. unless bishop gets off his ass i don't think this blog will get many reviews in the near future

social conflict s/t ep cd
if you couldn't tell on the last post i did my main thought was what the fuck is this? well i kind of have this thought with this one but i know what it is. somewhat interesting new punk. you know how i feel about new punk so this longtime readers (me) should know what to expect from this one. interesting if a bit dul garage punk. i went into this thinking it was a hardcore band. they hail from southern california and i discovered them through a friend. well....i like the organ on track 2. that's about it. midtempo garage punk that is kind of fun to listen too but nothing special. clear mix sounds professionally done. get this if you like whatever i just described. honestly i'm not into this one at all. ah well. sorry if anyone from the band reads this. honesty hurts i guess. coming up some good music! oh and what an unoriginal name. but i've said all i want too say here

br00talizer i decapatated your hamster cd
this is a pure joke band. this is wannabe grindcore played with what appears to be a battery-operated amp, a drum machine, and a shit ass recorder. the lyrucs are dumb as fuck. the sex jokes are really really lame. the mickey mouse jokes i just don't find all that funny. from what i hear the band is from china. at least it's not pretending to be more than a joke. the last track is a napalm death cover. i really don't know what else to say about this thing. you should listen to it once and just once. after that you may not ever want too

anvil live review
well last night i saw the legendary anvil for the first time. i have all 14 albums, the movie, and even the book. i know all the history. well i thought this was gonna be just the mentors and anvil. that's what it said. when i got to the whisky though i learned i had to sit through 6 bands before anvil who went on at 11. the first band was some metalcore band who's name i never learned. they were pretty good but the lyrics were amazingly whiny. sorry i just don't like emo people. the next band was called kick and chicken. i didn't get the joke. to me they just sounded like another groove metal band. i just didn't understand what was so good about them. the next band was wise guy theory. they sucked so much cock it's not even funny. worse than airborn. hard rock wanker band. the crowd didn't even like them either. here's one song. i don't give a fuck cause you don't give a fuck! repeted 1000 times over and over again. they alternated between hard rock and really bad metal. the singer sucked too. next band was social overload. they kicked so much ass. thrash from san fernando valley bitches! if any member or friend of a member of social overload is reading this i need a coppy of your demo to review it. the next band i don't even remember the name of it but it was a cross between roots era sepultura, pantera, and cannibal corpse. fun for about 2 songs then boring as shit. next was a death metal band from pamona called deceive. i actually thought they were pretty cool death thrash metal. they had a really cool singer. would love to get that ep too. i was kind of waiting for anvil at that point but i payed attention and really enjoyed deceived. then anvil came up. they didn't have the bombs with tea leaves i heard about and lips didn't use a dildo to play guitar. but they rocked so damn hard it was scary. they have a new bassest named sal. i don't know personally i liked glen a lot. this guy will take some getting used too. they played some of my favorite songs though nothing from 86-05 which sucks cause they released some killer records from that period. lips has lost whatever voice he had. he can still play guitar like a motherfucker. rob did a really really really long drum solo that was simply amazing to hear. the only thing is sometimes the songs would drag on because they'd play so many solos and it's like okay next please! i didn't stick around for the mentors because without el duce it's not the same. overall a pretty good night. and i finally got to see one of my favorite metal bands ever. i'll be reviewing some anvil later on. and hopefully i'll review social overload's demo if i ever get it. please! deceive too!

sepultura morbid visions lp
well hello! remember me? i'm the only blind punk blogger along with being the only real admin of this blog. that's right i said it. anyway i'm getting fuck all in the way of new records from people. what the fuck? give me your new records! on a serious note the guys over at godz ov war did it again for me and soon i'll have another great release from poland to review. but first it's off to south america for some brazillian fuckin metal. and what do we have? thrash borderring on death metal. i never knew about this band until this summer i stumbled into this album. it starts with a cool little classical musical thing (which needs to go back on the reissue) and then all hell breaks loose for 8 tracks of pure headfucking insannity. i mean people write this off because the guitars are slightly out of toon (personally i can't hear it) or because of the mix or it's sloppy. but this to me represents the heavyest and best thing sep ever did. i love all sep up too and including roots. after max cavalera aka god left the band and green took over eh it's never done much for me. btw the other guitarest in this band would quit after this album and go on to found sarcofago of which i've been meaning to check out for a long ass time. when he went away the black metal went away. max's vocals are a topic worth bringing up. listening to his later stuff (which i like all of) and then listening to this album i thought it was two different guys. this time max is possessed by satan. you can hear it in his demonic voice. the lyrics are straightup satanism. a little basic but who cares? this album gets shit from sep fans but you need this if you love death thrash or early black metal. buy or die! or download the original. i couldn't care less. just get it! get it now!

venomous concept retroactive abortion cd
everyone's in love! where's elliott's love? i'm lovable you know! ah fuck it who needs love when you have music? this is well i don't know. two members of napalm death shane and danny started this band along with kevin sharp of brutal truth and buz of the melvins. i have to say when i first heard about this band i thought it would be a straightup hc band. nope. first of all it took me 20 minutes to get past the name. venomous concept. poison idea. get it? i want to slap whoever came up with that one. anyway what we have is basicly crust played very well. you can hear a lot of metal so i was originally disapointed. but overall it's a pretty good fast crust record. kevin still has no voice though. i liked him on the first brutal truth album but he really has no high voice. go back to death growls kevin. please. the drums are great. i've always like danny as a drummer in nd (mic was the best but let's not go into that) so it's no surprise that he puts in a solid performance on this album. the bass and guitar pound away. in a way i'm not surprised these guys are hc fans. okay i knew it all along. grindcore and sludge metal both came from punk and the melvins were a hc band at first i think. overall if you like fast as hell metallic hardcore (not the subgenre) get this record. will review the next album poisoned apple later. that one has danny lilker on it! yay! let's see how it is. elliott out

sod sound of disaster 7 ep
well one of the blogs i love has taken a turn for the worse. he's made a dessision that i disagree with 100000000 percent. ah well. the show must go on. ripping swedish punk fuckin rock the way it should be! awesome gravelly voice, nice distorted guitars, and just amazing production. the songs can strech on a little but it's still pretty damn good. this is not s.o.d btw this is sod. get this if you like slightly unoriginal yet very good swedish punk. btw fuck bishop! he's triing to upstage me. don't let him do that! hahah

filthy christians mean cd
seeing as bishop just posted you might think i'm triing to do something like upstage him but in reality i've had this on my mind for some time and i figure we could keep the punks happy. anyway filthy christians were at first a swedish hardcore band that later went more and more death metal. still they had a sound unlike any other. well this was released on the great earache records so i figured i'd get this. also i loved per's other band protes bengt so i figured what the hell. well we have a bridge between punk and metal here. i'd say this is mostly punk with some metal leanings (unlike naled which was metal with punk leanings) overall pretty damn good stuff. it came out in the 90s so i thought oh god how good could this be? because the 90s sucked. anyway the first song is a really weird and pointless intro. seriously. what the hell is up with that intro? anyway it goes into a slow actual song with some melodic parts before blasting off at the end. the mix is pretty good i guess. i really like the guitar work on this. per's voice is just class as bishop would say. overall this cd is just great. the followup is amazing as well. will review that when i want. let's be honest here i review things when i want. anyway get this and thrash your damn head off!!
Killswitch Engage – Alive Or Just Breathing (2002)
- Numbered Days
- Self Revolution
- Fixation On The Darkness
- My Last Serenade
- Life To Lifeless
- Just Barely Breathing
- To The Sons Of Man
- Temple From Within
- The Element Of One
- Vide Infra
- Without A Name
- Rise Inside
Killswitch were one of the earliest bands I was introduced to. I was about 15, I think Howard had just joined the band – The End Of Heartache hadn’t even been announced yet. I picked up Alive Or Just Breathing on a whim and was instantly sold.
One thing makes this album stand the test of time for me – it still feels refreshing to this day. Putting on Fixation On The Darkness or Life To Lifeless still feels as entertaining as it did when I first heard the album. There’s that sort of familiar uncertainty every time you listen, where you find yourself lost in the song.
The Element Of One was always my favourite as a kid, but I think I’d have to take Rise Inside away with me if I had to choose today. The slow rising tempo, catchy hooks and – well just how much goes on in that song! The musicianship in this album was unreal.
A lot of people claim after Jesse Leach’s departure the quality of the band went south. Regardless of your opinion, AoJB was one hell of a record to try and follow up either way – especially when it nestled it’s way into so many fans hearts.
As an aside, on Numbered Days it’s always sounded to me as if Jesse’s saying “Gay Dogs Will Rise.” Luckily for us, that doesn’t seem to have happened. Yet.

attention! atention please! hey you in the back, stop talking! and you stop smoking crack! okay. i have a special anouncement...i said stop smoking crack!!! anyway i've been going at this with little or no help for two years. well that's changing. i'm very pleased to welcom Andrew Bishop to political trendy. he will mainly be doing background stuff but i told him he can post if he wants. it will probably mostly be my blog still as i have less of a life than he does. let's see how this works out. i hope the partnership between me and Bishop will last a long time and bring in more people. okay you can get back to the crack now
end for the blogging world?
agz has just been attacked by mediafire. all his files gone. even the stuff he created. what's next? i feel guilty. it's because of america that it happened. the country that i live in. i wonder what's next? if this keeps up this really willl be the end of blog. i know i've cryed wulf many times but this time it might actually be the final nale in the coffin. i can't say much right now as i feel so horible. these are very dark times we live in.

annihilist incriminated demo
not really sure if this is a demo or an ep. this is my friend bishop's old thrash band. pretty cool thrash in the style of slayer, kreator and the like. the only thing i must say is the vocals. they're just.....aweful. sorry bishop. he would later get better on the followup release. the mix is pretty raw and that's the way it should be. i don't know if anyone else noticed this but this band isn't really a fast thrash band. oh yes they have some really good fast parts. but they seem to be happyest at a midpased sound which is fine with me. i really like the guitar work on this. it's just too bad they broke up after the followup cause i'd love to hear an annihilist ep. best track is incriminated though they're all great and i'm not just saying that. they really all kill. i don't usually like the new thrash bands that much but man do these guys pull it off. will review the followup soon. get this at the band's last.fm page. it's awesome and well worth it. actualy it's a shame that it's for free. this band is so good they could make money off this stuff. btw i heard another annihilist a while ago. they were alright thrash but this is better i think. anyway check this shit out!

well i finally got the url fixed....then i thought you know i was never really happy with the elliott sucks name. so i changed it to political trendy. and now the blog has a new address politicaltrendy.blogspot.com. that's right it's a real blog address now! i am so happy. i hope this can get some more people over to the blog. pt is back baby!! oh and please note that at some point i will be deleting the blog for 72 hours to protest sopa. sorry people i know these things are anoying as fuck but as ed said "ya gotta risk looking like a fool to protest anything. it's anoying but that's where we're at." i incurage all the blogs to do the same on the date that we shall set if anyone reads this and agrees with me. this is important and it effects your very existance as a blog so please join me in the fight. that is all. good to have tp back again. this is where it belongs

protes bengt bengt e sankt demo tape
more fuckshitupism from sweden. this band changed from the ep. now they were like heresy and dri one note hc. still this is really really really good! per's voice is still hard as shit. really good rifs here. quite short only 12 songs. i don't know how much i can say on this how much can you say about a demo like this?? the guitar tone is amazingly raw. one thing is it seems they double tracked the guitars or maybe that's just me. still this blows most demos from 1986 out of the watter. i can't actually remember one track. the problem as with most of these type of hc bands is they kind of blend into one long track. still this is worth well i guess downloading as i can't find it to buy and i don't think the demo or the ep will ever be reissued. bastards. btw you may notice some changes with the blog. i'm playing around with some blogger things so it may look a little weird for a while. hope you like the fact that now every time i post you get an email. hahaha i just want to be anoying! seriously that's all i want to do. anyway i'm probably gonna start posting youtube vids too so look forward to that

rip misery addict
so from what i've read misery addict are broken up. it sucks cause they put out some damn good records and i was really looking forward to hearing how the ma sound had evolved. plus they contacted my blog which makes them the best new band in the world. they existed for two years. during that time they put out an ep, a tape, a split with beasts (the reason they contacted me), and a compilation ep. not bad at all. all while getting heavyer and heavyer. what i'll miss most about ma is the humor. very few punk bands can be serious lyricly yet have humorous writings. ma pulled them off thanks to the demented front man andrew bishop. goodby misery addict. the punk scene won't be quite as well quite as not as shitty as it is without you

note on reviewing new records
from now on unless it's a big release or i really love the record i will only review new records if they're sent to me. otherwise i will wait a year to review any new records i get from small labels. my blog is just as important as any magazine people send records too and i ame to prove that. that is all. sorry if this sounds dickheadish but after two years it's time i set a standard.

anal cunt the olld testament 1988-91 double cd
at first i didn't know what this was. i thought it was just the early years cd. well it sort of is. pretty much contains the same tracks with a few exceptions. well i lost my coppy 3 years ago so of course when i was out at amoeba today i baught it right up. the first track is the band's never before heard first demo. it's the rawest of all the recordings as it was recorded in singer seth putnam's mother's addic (wonder what the mom thought) anyway as anyone who knows early axcx will know this is pure noise. noise for noises sake if you will. anyway this album is best played wile drunk. seriously i have a huge fuckin headache right now. 2 disks dude. all the stuff that was on the early years cd is on this with the exception of the outakes from another ep. ah well. this comp also has a few weird songs at the end of the second disk. as well as some comp tracks not on the early years. the best tracks are the early demo, the 47 song demo, the 88 song ep both sides, and the 5643 song ep both sides. seriously this is only for those who love noise and i mean really really love noise. this is almost too much for me. still if you like hc give some of these a listen.

the band with no name 1979 demo
or as they would like to be called now amebix. this is straight up punk. the recording is just awefull. then again maybe it's cause it was recorded in 79. this reminds me of the clash a lot. i have no idea what the vocals are saying and to be honest this does drag on. still this is a pretty solid tape. oh and happy new year! also i'm going to go see anvil in february so i'll review that show. stay cool and i promous i'll try to think about doing more posts this year. what that means is i'll never do a post for the rest of the year. oh btw just a little sidenote about amebix. one of these songs got on the bullshit detecter comp i can't remember which one cause i'm dumb. it's funny how many obscure bands got on those comps and then bands like napalm death and amebix were on before they were huge

whargoul
dave brockie
well i just found out dave of gwar has published my favorite book of all time whargoul. it used to be up on his site but he took it down. this means i can't read it unless dave does an audio book (come on dave please?) anyway i found another way to have it again. not the point though. the point is that i've read this book like 12 times. so why not review it? this book is based on a song off gwar's 5th album. the book is about the demon of war whargoul who lives off death basically. he needs souls to feed. also he needs shit in human's brain stems. this book is pretty graphic. and pretty gory. and that's why i love it. anyway this book is about all the wars he faught in and all the people he killed. i won't go into plot detales as you need to read it. i had no idea what it was gonna be like and it turned out better than i ever emagined and i can't wait to read it again. btw my favorite character is the pustulater even if he has like an inch of space. how can you not love a mountain of shit? anyway buy this if you love gore and war history and love it as much as i do. dave brockie is god! also i'm gonna be doing more book reviews.

dr aids the return of necroquegcuntcore ep
well this is the newest stuff by dr aids. as the name suggests this is a rerecording of 3 songs from the demo and a gg allin cover. let's talk about the rerecordings first. i'm gonna be honest and say i prefer the demo ones. these ones aren't bad but it seems like they've moved on from these songs. plus i liked the mix of the demo songs (more about that in a bit) and they weren't written for 2 vocalists. but they don't sound like they're just laying down tracks either. i feel the anger. still i'd have to say the best rerecording they did was kattie price fuck off to jorden on the first ep. now on to the mix. well...it's loud. i mean really loud. thanks for deffening me agz. the drums are fucked though. i can't describe it they sound very shaky. joe is a good drummer so that's a shame. the guitar and bass sound is great though sometimes the bass overshadows the guitar. that along with piggy is louder than agz on the cover. now on to the cover. it's just fucking amazing. the accents come through great with the slang that gg uses. oh and it's called bight it you cunt non this. i wonder why. haha. it's pretty damn scummy. overall this is a good record just i think it's time for some new stuff and the drums are fucked. get it for free at agzdaredz.blogspot.com. also i got another song for a compilation but i'm not sure how much i can say. all i can say is it's pretty funny. get this or fuck off!

the drunken cholos livin' la vida loco ep
well this is quite the record if you ask me. here we have the original lineup of tge queers. the lineup on the first ep. that's right. just the three of them. so you can guess how much i wanted to hear this. and now that i've heard it? i fuckin love it!!!!!!!!! 7 funny songs about smokin pot and chinese food. how can you not love this!!! one of the few new (post-1987) records i love. this was released in 2001 on hopeless. they also put out a split with some other band. i'd love to have those songs too. you gotta get this. oh and it has good production which isn't a bad thing. the only i can describe this is how tim of mrr described the queers' first ep. "charming in a retarded kind of way"

stolen hearts heart collecter 7 ep
well wile i wait for zach to give me some great old hc records i can review i thought i'd review a new powerpop record. oh yeah and it's a great new powerpop record. what's with all these genres making a comeback? i mean first hardcore, then thrash metal, then punk, now powerpop? come to think of it can you remember a great band out of any of those genres that was still going strong in the 90s? if you can please comment. anyway great cachy powerpop with a simply amazing lead singer. what a voice she has. the first song heart collecter is probably my favorite and not just because i could dedicate that song to a few people. but the other two tracks rock. i think the band broke up. shame. one of the members went on to play in something called gg king. now i like that band name. gg was the king. anyway not sure how to get this pretty sure it's out of print or something but damnet get it! and zach i did this post just for you. now you can post something and i can have more records to review! on 2nd thought i have a lot of metal i can review so
