well what better way to thank justin of mustard relics than reviewing garden weasel. if you didn't know he put my blog in his links. now i'll try to be totally objective. it's fucking awesome! objective enough for ya? this is the last time these amazing people performed together according to ed's (guitarest) blog. this is some of the fastest stuff i've heard by these guys. i'm not joking when i say justin has some one of the best voices in hardcore. he doesn't like it but i do. this band was a major influence for me to start my own thing along with of corse wd-40 and grout, gg allin, fear of god as well as well you guys should know my favorites by now. i'm actually looking for a coppy of the garden weasel ep as well as the jane maxwell band tape and some others. fuck i need to start a wanted list. except for the garden weasel ep i'd even take downloads of this shit. anyway enjoy this tape (it is a tape right) which is at mustard relics.

ok another post from mustard relics. this was my first gw recording i got at mr right after the fantastic wd-40 demo. what we have is a radio show with gw performing. go to mr for the background. anyway this has some great stuff on it including two wd-40 covers. and the end is a really cover of low rider by war. i never liked war but if they made the orijinal like gw did i would check them out haha. man justin could scream! he doesn't like to hear it but you've got a great voice man. anyway check this out. oh and one mor thing. on every gw recording you can hear the bass quite well. i like that. the guitar has a great sound but the drums would give me hearing loss if i played it so loud. check it now!

“Lock up the ding dongs and hide your corn, I was taking bong hits before I was born”. that's how this amazing tape starts off with the smasher stoner fetus. and it goes on for 17 songs. just like that. understand is a good ska punk song that is just awesome especially justin quoting a line from a song by his first band wd-40. my favorite? out of the car. best lyrics i've ever heard. according to ed the guitarest they went up to the local colege radio station khsu in the middle of the night and used the performence room to make this. if that's true that's pretty awesome. ed later doubled the guitar on most of the tracks because the guitar was a little quiet. and the cover! you just need to see it. it's mustard relics for the download. oh and steve bohner the drummer has a snare that will terr your fucking ears right off. and brian's bass is pretty loud. everything about this demo is just right. enjoy and remember. people talk about drugs and how dangerous they are/but people just don't know about the fuckin car!

why does this not get the respect it deserves? i really don't know. garden weasel was kind of a followup to wd-40 which i think i posted a while ago. noa a very fast record but that's what i like about it. where as wd-40 was pretty much a hardcore band i think gw tryed some different things. not that i know jack shit about this band well i do but only from reading shit by the people in the band. and what a band! everyone in the band is awesome and has been an inspiration to me. i tryed to sing like justin. it didn't work. i can't sing like him. go to mustard relics and get it. and you'll love it. you'll love it damnet!
