social conflict s/t ep cd

if you couldn't tell on the last post i did my main thought was what the fuck is this? well i kind of have this thought with this one but i know what it is. somewhat interesting new punk. you know how i feel about new punk so this longtime readers (me) should know what to expect from this one. interesting if a bit dul garage punk. i went into this thinking it was a hardcore band. they hail from southern california and i discovered them through a friend. well....i like the organ on track 2. that's about it. midtempo garage punk that is kind of fun to listen too but nothing special. clear mix sounds professionally done. get this if you like whatever i just described. honestly i'm not into this one at all. ah well. sorry if anyone from the band reads this. honesty hurts i guess. coming up some good music! oh and what an unoriginal name. but i've said all i want too say here

br00talizer i decapatated your hamster cd

this is a pure joke band. this is wannabe grindcore played with what appears to be a battery-operated amp, a drum machine, and a shit ass recorder. the lyrucs are dumb as fuck. the sex jokes are really really lame. the mickey mouse jokes i just don't find all that funny. from what i hear the band is from china. at least it's not pretending to be more than a joke. the last track is a napalm death cover. i really don't know what else to say about this thing. you should listen to it once and just once. after that you may not ever want too

anvil live review

well last night i saw the legendary anvil for the first time. i have all 14 albums, the movie, and even the book. i know all the history. well i thought this was gonna be just the mentors and anvil. that's what it said. when i got to the whisky though i learned i had to sit through 6 bands before anvil who went on at 11. the first band was some metalcore band who's name i never learned. they were pretty good but the lyrics were amazingly whiny. sorry i just don't like emo people. the next band was called kick and chicken. i didn't get the joke. to me they just sounded like another groove metal band. i just didn't understand what was so good about them. the next band was wise guy theory. they sucked so much cock it's not even funny. worse than airborn. hard rock wanker band. the crowd didn't even like them either. here's one song. i don't give a fuck cause you don't give a fuck! repeted 1000 times over and over again. they alternated between hard rock and really bad metal. the singer sucked too. next band was social overload. they kicked so much ass. thrash from san fernando valley bitches! if any member or friend of a member of social overload is reading this i need a coppy of your demo to review it. the next band i don't even remember the name of it but it was a cross between roots era sepultura, pantera, and cannibal corpse. fun for about 2 songs then boring as shit. next was a death metal band from pamona called deceive. i actually thought they were pretty cool death thrash metal. they had a really cool singer. would love to get that ep too. i was kind of waiting for anvil at that point but i payed attention and really enjoyed deceived. then anvil came up. they didn't have the bombs with tea leaves i heard about and lips didn't use a dildo to play guitar. but they rocked so damn hard it was scary. they have a new bassest named sal. i don't know personally i liked glen a lot. this guy will take some getting used too. they played some of my favorite songs though nothing from 86-05 which sucks cause they released some killer records from that period. lips has lost whatever voice he had. he can still play guitar like a motherfucker. rob did a really really really long drum solo that was simply amazing to hear. the only thing is sometimes the songs would drag on because they'd play so many solos and it's like okay next please! i didn't stick around for the mentors because without el duce it's not the same. overall a pretty good night. and i finally got to see one of my favorite metal bands ever. i'll be reviewing some anvil later on. and hopefully i'll review social overload's demo if i ever get it. please! deceive too!

sepultura morbid visions lp

well hello! remember me? i'm the only blind punk blogger along with being the only real admin of this blog. that's right i said it. anyway i'm getting fuck all in the way of new records from people. what the fuck? give me your new records! on a serious note the guys over at godz ov war did it again for me and soon i'll have another great release from poland to review. but first it's off to south america for some brazillian fuckin metal. and what do we have? thrash borderring on death metal. i never knew about this band until this summer i stumbled into this album. it starts with a cool little classical musical thing (which needs to go back on the reissue) and then all hell breaks loose for 8 tracks of pure headfucking insannity. i mean people write this off because the guitars are slightly out of toon (personally i can't hear it) or because of the mix or it's sloppy. but this to me represents the heavyest and best thing sep ever did. i love all sep up too and including roots. after max cavalera aka god left the band and green took over eh it's never done much for me. btw the other guitarest in this band would quit after this album and go on to found sarcofago of which i've been meaning to check out for a long ass time. when he went away the black metal went away. max's vocals are a topic worth bringing up. listening to his later stuff (which i like all of) and then listening to this album i thought it was two different guys. this time max is possessed by satan. you can hear it in his demonic voice. the lyrics are straightup satanism. a little basic but who cares? this album gets shit from sep fans but you need this if you love death thrash or early black metal. buy or die! or download the original. i couldn't care less. just get it! get it now!

venomous concept retroactive abortion cd

everyone's in love! where's elliott's love? i'm lovable you know! ah fuck it who needs love when you have music? this is well i don't know. two members of napalm death shane and danny started this band along with kevin sharp of brutal truth and buz of the melvins. i have to say when i first heard about this band i thought it would be a straightup hc band. nope. first of all it took me 20 minutes to get past the name. venomous concept. poison idea. get it? i want to slap whoever came up with that one. anyway what we have is basicly crust played very well. you can hear a lot of metal so i was originally disapointed. but overall it's a pretty good fast crust record. kevin still has no voice though. i liked him on the first brutal truth album but he really has no high voice. go back to death growls kevin. please. the drums are great. i've always like danny as a drummer in nd (mic was the best but let's not go into that) so it's no surprise that he puts in a solid performance on this album. the bass and guitar pound away. in a way i'm not surprised these guys are hc fans. okay i knew it all along. grindcore and sludge metal both came from punk and the melvins were a hc band at first i think. overall if you like fast as hell metallic hardcore (not the subgenre) get this record. will review the next album poisoned apple later. that one has danny lilker on it! yay! let's see how it is. elliott out

sod sound of disaster 7 ep

well one of the blogs i love has taken a turn for the worse. he's made a dessision that i disagree with 100000000 percent. ah well. the show must go on. ripping swedish punk fuckin rock the way it should be! awesome gravelly voice, nice distorted guitars, and just amazing production. the songs can strech on a little but it's still pretty damn good. this is not s.o.d btw this is sod. get this if you like slightly unoriginal yet very good swedish punk. btw fuck bishop! he's triing to upstage me. don't let him do that! hahah

filthy christians mean cd

seeing as bishop just posted you might think i'm triing to do something like upstage him but in reality i've had this on my mind for some time and i figure we could keep the punks happy. anyway filthy christians were at first a swedish hardcore band that later went more and more death metal. still they had a sound unlike any other. well this was released on the great earache records so i figured i'd get this. also i loved per's other band protes bengt so i figured what the hell. well we have a bridge between punk and metal here. i'd say this is mostly punk with some metal leanings (unlike naled which was metal with punk leanings) overall pretty damn good stuff. it came out in the 90s so i thought oh god how good could this be? because the 90s sucked. anyway the first song is a really weird and pointless intro. seriously. what the hell is up with that intro? anyway it goes into a slow actual song with some melodic parts before blasting off at the end. the mix is pretty good i guess. i really like the guitar work on this. per's voice is just class as bishop would say. overall this cd is just great. the followup is amazing as well. will review that when i want. let's be honest here i review things when i want. anyway get this and thrash your damn head off!!

Killswitch Engage – Alive Or Just Breathing (2002)

  1. Numbered Days
  2. Self Revolution
  3. Fixation On The Darkness
  4. My Last Serenade
  5. Life To Lifeless
  6. Just Barely Breathing
  7. To The Sons Of Man
  8. Temple From Within
  9. The Element Of One
  10. Vide Infra
  11. Without A Name
  12. Rise Inside
As some sort of gay introductory thing, Elliot wanted me to review a punk record or something. I’m not as into punk as he is, and I’d just end up waffling about shite, so I’ll stick with what I know.

Killswitch were one of the earliest bands I was introduced to. I was about 15, I think Howard had just joined the band – The End Of Heartache hadn’t even been announced yet. I picked up Alive Or Just Breathing on a whim and was instantly sold.

One thing makes this album stand the test of time for me – it still feels refreshing to this day. Putting on Fixation On The Darkness or Life To Lifeless still feels as entertaining as it did when I first heard the album. There’s that sort of familiar uncertainty every time you listen, where you find yourself lost in the song.

The Element Of One was always my favourite as a kid, but I think I’d have to take Rise Inside away with me if I had to choose today. The slow rising tempo, catchy hooks and – well just how much goes on in that song! The musicianship in this album was unreal.

A lot of people claim after Jesse Leach’s departure the quality of the band went south. Regardless of your opinion, AoJB was one hell of a record to try and follow up either way – especially when it nestled it’s way into so many fans hearts.

As an aside, on Numbered Days it’s always sounded to me as if Jesse’s saying “Gay Dogs Will Rise.” Luckily for us, that doesn’t seem to have happened. Yet.

attention! atention please! hey you in the back, stop talking! and you stop smoking crack! okay. i have a special anouncement...i said stop smoking crack!!! anyway i've been going at this with little or no help for two years. well that's changing. i'm very pleased to welcom Andrew Bishop to political trendy. he will mainly be doing background stuff but i told him he can post if he wants. it will probably mostly be my blog still as i have less of a life than he does. let's see how this works out. i hope the partnership between me and Bishop will last a long time and bring in more people. okay you can get back to the crack now
end for the blogging world?

agz has just been attacked by mediafire. all his files gone. even the stuff he created. what's next? i feel guilty. it's because of america that it happened. the country that i live in. i wonder what's next? if this keeps up this really willl be the end of blog. i know i've cryed wulf many times but this time it might actually be the final nale in the coffin. i can't say much right now as i feel so horible. these are very dark times we live in.

annihilist incriminated demo

not really sure if this is a demo or an ep. this is my friend bishop's old thrash band. pretty cool thrash in the style of slayer, kreator and the like. the only thing i must say is the vocals. they're just.....aweful. sorry bishop. he would later get better on the followup release. the mix is pretty raw and that's the way it should be. i don't know if anyone else noticed this but this band isn't really a fast thrash band. oh yes they have some really good fast parts. but they seem to be happyest at a midpased sound which is fine with me. i really like the guitar work on this. it's just too bad they broke up after the followup cause i'd love to hear an annihilist ep. best track is incriminated though they're all great and i'm not just saying that. they really all kill. i don't usually like the new thrash bands that much but man do these guys pull it off. will review the followup soon. get this at the band's last.fm page. it's awesome and well worth it. actualy it's a shame that it's for free. this band is so good they could make money off this stuff. btw i heard another annihilist a while ago. they were alright thrash but this is better i think. anyway check this shit out!
kiss my fucking ass u.s government

fuck you and your fucking president. fuck your congris, fuck your senit, and fuck the way you can never get anything done. fuck you for sopa, riaa, and coppywrite. fuck you for everything. i know you'll put me on your blacklist but the internet is finished because of you. you have made a huge mistake and you with pay with blood. that's right. with blood. i don't know what's gonna happen but it will make the race riots of the 60s look like a sunday at the beach. you have tryed to stop freedom for the last time. heil obama is what you want us to say. or heil whoever the fuck is next be they republican or democrat. heil to no one. we need a new government. a government to say no whenever right wing fuckwits who have zero brain power try to stop fredom of information. megaupload is down now and it is your falt! it is all your falt and you shall pay. i am sick of these fuckwits who voted for sopa. i hope you burn. you have killed the last branch of fredom we have, the internet. you already spy on everyone in america who's on the web, you

well i finally got the url fixed....then i thought you know i was never really happy with the elliott sucks name. so i changed it to political trendy. and now the blog has a new address politicaltrendy.blogspot.com. that's right it's a real blog address now! i am so happy. i hope this can get some more people over to the blog. pt is back baby!! oh and please note that at some point i will be deleting the blog for 72 hours to protest sopa. sorry people i know these things are anoying as fuck but as ed said "ya gotta risk looking like a fool to protest anything. it's anoying but that's where we're at." i incurage all the blogs to do the same on the date that we shall set if anyone reads this and agrees with me. this is important and it effects your very existance as a blog so please join me in the fight. that is all. good to have tp back again. this is where it belongs

protes bengt bengt e sankt demo tape

more fuckshitupism from sweden. this band changed from the ep. now they were like heresy and dri one note hc. still this is really really really good! per's voice is still hard as shit. really good rifs here. quite short only 12 songs. i don't know how much i can say on this how much can you say about a demo like this?? the guitar tone is amazingly raw. one thing is it seems they double tracked the guitars or maybe that's just me. still this blows most demos from 1986 out of the watter. i can't actually remember one track. the problem as with most of these type of hc bands is they kind of blend into one long track. still this is worth well i guess downloading as i can't find it to buy and i don't think the demo or the ep will ever be reissued. bastards. btw you may notice some changes with the blog. i'm playing around with some blogger things so it may look a little weird for a while. hope you like the fact that now every time i post you get an email. hahaha i just want to be anoying! seriously that's all i want to do. anyway i'm probably gonna start posting youtube vids too so look forward to that
rip misery addict

so from what i've read misery addict are broken up. it sucks cause they put out some damn good records and i was really looking forward to hearing how the ma sound had evolved. plus they contacted my blog which makes them the best new band in the world. they existed for two years. during that time they put out an ep, a tape, a split with beasts (the reason they contacted me), and a compilation ep. not bad at all. all while getting heavyer and heavyer. what i'll miss most about ma is the humor. very few punk bands can be serious lyricly yet have humorous writings. ma pulled them off thanks to the demented front man andrew bishop. goodby misery addict. the punk scene won't be quite as well quite as not as shitty as it is without you

note on reviewing new records

from now on unless it's a big release or i really love the record i will only review new records if they're sent to me. otherwise i will wait a year to review any new records i get from small labels. my blog is just as important as any magazine people send records too and i ame to prove that. that is all. sorry if this sounds dickheadish but after two years it's time i set a standard.

anal cunt the olld testament 1988-91 double cd

at first i didn't know what this was. i thought it was just the early years cd. well it sort of is. pretty much contains the same tracks with a few exceptions. well i lost my coppy 3 years ago so of course when i was out at amoeba today i baught it right up. the first track is the band's never before heard first demo. it's the rawest of all the recordings as it was recorded in singer seth putnam's mother's addic (wonder what the mom thought) anyway as anyone who knows early axcx will know this is pure noise. noise for noises sake if you will. anyway this album is best played wile drunk. seriously i have a huge fuckin headache right now. 2 disks dude. all the stuff that was on the early years cd is on this with the exception of the outakes from another ep. ah well. this comp also has a few weird songs at the end of the second disk. as well as some comp tracks not on the early years. the best tracks are the early demo, the 47 song demo, the 88 song ep both sides, and the 5643 song ep both sides. seriously this is only for those who love noise and i mean really really love noise. this is almost too much for me. still if you like hc give some of these a listen.

Monday, January 2, 2012

the band with no name 1979 demo

or as they would like to be called now amebix. this is straight up punk. the recording is just awefull. then again maybe it's cause it was recorded in 79. this reminds me of the clash a lot. i have no idea what the vocals are saying and to be honest this does drag on. still this is a pretty solid tape. oh and happy new year! also i'm going to go see anvil in february so i'll review that show. stay cool and i promous i'll try to think about doing more posts this year. what that means is i'll never do a post for the rest of the year. oh btw just a little sidenote about amebix. one of these songs got on the bullshit detecter comp i can't remember which one cause i'm dumb. it's funny how many obscure bands got on those comps and then bands like napalm death and amebix were on before they were huge

whargoul
dave brockie

well i just found out dave of gwar has published my favorite book of all time whargoul. it used to be up on his site but he took it down. this means i can't read it unless dave does an audio book (come on dave please?) anyway i found another way to have it again. not the point though. the point is that i've read this book like 12 times. so why not review it? this book is based on a song off gwar's 5th album. the book is about the demon of war whargoul who lives off death basically. he needs souls to feed. also he needs shit in human's brain stems. this book is pretty graphic. and pretty gory. and that's why i love it. anyway this book is about all the wars he faught in and all the people he killed. i won't go into plot detales as you need to read it. i had no idea what it was gonna be like and it turned out better than i ever emagined and i can't wait to read it again. btw my favorite character is the pustulater even if he has like an inch of space. how can you not love a mountain of shit? anyway buy this if you love gore and war history and love it as much as i do. dave brockie is god! also i'm gonna be doing more book reviews.

2nd birthday of elliott sucks

it's the blogs 2nd birthday. 2 years i've been doing this. wow. 4 followers and only 1 commenter. whatever. at least i get any feedback. i feel like the band anvil. trying to get success and no one listening. so sad. but i'll try to continue with this blog. so more reviews coming up i guess. i'll probably never quit. it's sad how hard i try to get feedback. but anyway i'm in this for the long hall now

dr aids the return of necroquegcuntcore ep

well this is the newest stuff by dr aids. as the name suggests this is a rerecording of 3 songs from the demo and a gg allin cover. let's talk about the rerecordings first. i'm gonna be honest and say i prefer the demo ones. these ones aren't bad but it seems like they've moved on from these songs. plus i liked the mix of the demo songs (more about that in a bit) and they weren't written for 2 vocalists. but they don't sound like they're just laying down tracks either. i feel the anger. still i'd have to say the best rerecording they did was kattie price fuck off to jorden on the first ep. now on to the mix. well...it's loud. i mean really loud. thanks for deffening me agz. the drums are fucked though. i can't describe it they sound very shaky. joe is a good drummer so that's a shame. the guitar and bass sound is great though sometimes the bass overshadows the guitar. that along with piggy is louder than agz on the cover. now on to the cover. it's just fucking amazing. the accents come through great with the slang that gg uses. oh and it's called bight it you cunt non this. i wonder why. haha. it's pretty damn scummy. overall this is a good record just i think it's time for some new stuff and the drums are fucked. get it for free at agzdaredz.blogspot.com. also i got another song for a compilation but i'm not sure how much i can say. all i can say is it's pretty funny. get this or fuck off!

the drunken cholos livin' la vida loco ep

well this is quite the record if you ask me. here we have the original lineup of tge queers. the lineup on the first ep. that's right. just the three of them. so you can guess how much i wanted to hear this. and now that i've heard it? i fuckin love it!!!!!!!!! 7 funny songs about smokin pot and chinese food. how can you not love this!!! one of the few new (post-1987) records i love. this was released in 2001 on hopeless. they also put out a split with some other band. i'd love to have those songs too. you gotta get this. oh and it has good production which isn't a bad thing. the only i can describe this is how tim of mrr described the queers' first ep. "charming in a retarded kind of way"

Thursday, November 17, 2011

stolen hearts heart collecter 7 ep

well wile i wait for zach to give me some great old hc records i can review i thought i'd review a new powerpop record. oh yeah and it's a great new powerpop record. what's with all these genres making a comeback? i mean first hardcore, then thrash metal, then punk, now powerpop? come to think of it can you remember a great band out of any of those genres that was still going strong in the 90s? if you can please comment. anyway great cachy powerpop with a simply amazing lead singer. what a voice she has. the first song heart collecter is probably my favorite and not just because i could dedicate that song to a few people. but the other two tracks rock. i think the band broke up. shame. one of the members went on to play in something called gg king. now i like that band name. gg was the king. anyway not sure how to get this pretty sure it's out of print or something but damnet get it! and zach i did this post just for you. now you can post something and i can have more records to review! on 2nd thought i have a lot of metal i can review so

drunken profane almost midnight rant

well i was looking through my posts and blog history. in damn near two years of doing this i got 4 fucking followers, i've done almost 380 fucking posts, and only one or two people read this fucking thing. this is not how i planned my blog would be in two years. it's fucking shocking. i must be the least frequented blog on the net and why do i do it? i don't know. for the ego? that's a laugh and a half. if i did it strictly for ego i'd have killed myself about a year ago. i guess the reason i keep doing this is i just hope things will improve. i hope (i don't pray we've been over this unless you didn't read that one either) every day that people will discover my little soapbox and like what i'm writing. i don't know it's a little depressing. no i take that back it's a lot depressing. i understand people have lives but fuck dude hafl the comments are mine. that's not good i don't care what country you're from. so what's the future? i'm sure i'll keep posting reviews and no one comments. you wanna know something? Zach is probably the only reason this blog stays afloat. serious thanks man. now if you just happen to click on ole elliott sucks please for the love of dog, comment? and if you like what you see and you have a blogger account follow? i'm pretty much begging right now cause i don't want to keep doing this and wasting my time. i can tell when this is a lost cause. it probably is already but i'll keep doing this at least til january. and one more thing. my followers who may or may not read this could you tell your friends? please? also i'm still open for records to review. ellindamood@gmail.com is where you can email me

Saturday, November 5, 2011

hey does anyone know where i can find the two cia records? thanks.

Monday, October 31, 2011

negative trend s/t 7 aka we don't play we riot 12

well hello kids. elliott back again with some in your face punk. great punk from 78. negative trend were from san fransisco and featured will and steve later of flipper. you can hear a bit of flipper in this ep but it's a lot more musical. 4 great dark punk songs with a hint of new york glam rock. that's kind of to be expected as i'm pretty sure they were all junkies. the singer's voice cracks on a couple of songs and he's about as melodic as me but it's still great. good mix too. shadder can play bass i'll tell ya. this was the only thing by negative trend other than a few tracks on the beach blvd comp and tooth and nale comp. actually the tooth and nale stuff is just a different mix of the blvd songs. anyway get this. it's been reissued a number of times so buy or die. or just download who gives a fuck?

disattack a bomb drops demo tape

well it seams all my blogs are on vacation. what you mean people actually have lives? anyway i thought i'd get back to what this blog was mad fore. in the words of agz, "punk as fuck!" this demo is by a band that features kenn and bill later of carcass along with pek vocals and paul i think who plays the bass. basically this was carcass before carcass. released in 85 this is about what you'd expect from a band called disattack. streight forward d-beat. i think pek is from finland and if i had to guess i'd say that's where they were from. for some reason a lot of bands out of europe and japan just kind of fell into this d-beat formula. it took america a few years to catch on but they did with bands like antischism and the lot. this isn't really the best demo in the world but hell it's pretty good and it's worth a few listens. so yeah get this on a blog cause it's long out of print

Saturday, September 24, 2011

underoath act of depression cd

sorry i took so long i've been busy doing nothing. so let's get into this album. it's deathcore with some black metal influences or whatever the christians call it. they call it something like nonblack metal or some shit. the production is pretty good nice and raw. the reason i'm reviewing this record is because of the final track. look i don't care if you're christian or whatever but don't talk about it. i t would have been a good album except for on the last track the guitarest starts whining about how people need to let jesus in. he also says "you don't know what you're missing" yes i do dude and i'm happy that i don't believ. i'd rather be unhappy and an athiest than a happy christian because if you ask me that's all religion is is a way to distract you from reality. see my belief is that life is very hard. if you can't deal with the fact that life is hard and have to turn to religion then well that's just sad. anyway that song ruined the album for me. this was the only interesting thing the band put out. everything elce by them is shit. at least they stopped the religious ranting. see even if it's in the lyrics i don't have to care cause i can just hear the music. if it's a spoken part it's different. so yeah don't get this. be back with some classic punk records soon

the damned things ironiclast cd

now i know what you're thinking. has he swiched to mainstream new records for life? no you idiot! i just review whatever i'm listening to at the time. which happens to be this. now when i heard of an anthrax/fall out boy hybrid basically i was like what the fuck? old scott ian must really like making money if he wants to work with fall out boy's x-drummer and guitarest (they broke up hahaha) or so i thought. and now? i still think that. it's okay hard rock. that's about it. generic as all hell but fun to listen to every now and again. oh and the vocalist is from every time i die. so yeah the man who once wrote speak english or die! and who recorded the crab society north demo is now making generic hard rock with a bunch of wanker pop punk cunts. rob from anthrax is in the band too but i really don't know much about him as all i have from anthrax are the first album and a single before the first album. s.o.d was always better. so anyway get this if you want but unless you're ritch don't spend that much money on it. it's fun for when you don't want something that heavy and you just want to chill. which isn't so bad now is it? but seriously scott ian i'm disapointed in you.

nekromantix what happens in hell, stays in hell cd

alright now for something different. i used to love psychobilly. i mean really really love it. like 5 years ago. now i thought i'd reviset an old fave of mine the nekromantix from denmark now from la. now in 2007 i got the newest album before this life is a grave and i dig it. i thought the album was okay. not good but not bad. i thought maybe they'd figure things out on this album. well they have a new lineup (the drummer died and the guitarest quit) and they put out this thing. so what do we have? once again this album is just okay. not amazing but not bad. i must say though that i don't listen to psychobilly any more except for rare moments. still though this just doesn't do much for me. i mean when the sandorf brothers quit the band in 04 or so they clamed it was because it wasn't funny any more. i can see what they mean. it's really just old now. kim nekroman is at least 40 or something. it's time to grow up lyrically. i kissed a ghoul and i liked it? please tell me this is a joke. i mean at least danzig was interesting in the misfits. this is the band's 8th album and it's starting to show. the music is fast sometimes. it's the kind of how it was on life is a grave in that the music is okay though i miss the old more punk guitar sound. also double track your fucking guitar please! i don't know these guys are appealing to the hot topic crowd and i'm not sure they can last much longer. i like this album but i fear it's time for these psychobillys to as they say go to hell. still if you like psychobilly you're probably gonna like this

the faith/void split lp

well things have been kind of fucked up for me. first of all my "friend" rafael died. to be honest he anoyed me but it was a shock to see him go. so yeah. anyway also i'm pissed cause no one comments. for fucks sake people! i don't do this blog so i can fucking waste time i do this blog so i can talk to other people and also hear new music. i've been doing this for over 1 fucking year you cunts. three people have stepped up and i thank them for it (you know who you are) but come on! anyway i don't know why i keep doing this. guess i just like too. so let's get on with this fuckin thing. two dc bands (void were from just outside of dc actually) share this slab of wax. and what a slab. first off is the faith. ripping hc that packs a punch. from what i've gathered they had some former members of soa after hank left. pretty good but the mix is pretty weird. still very angry and great! next up is void. a bit different than the demo but still good. you can hear the metal influences coming through. still i love this band and these 12 smashers are um smashing. produced by ian of minor threat. a fucking hc classic. enjoy this and if you don't fucking comment i'm done

carcass reek of putrefaction lp

well because of a conversation on facebook i will review the first lp by brittish grindcore/melodic death metal/death rock band carcass. now first let me say i love everything by carcass even the last album. that's not to say though that my judgement is clowded by that it's just a fact. anyway when i was 14 i was beginning my grindcore love. i'd heard fear of god and anal cunt and i heard napalm death's first album was a great grind album. so i got it and fell in love. i later learned bill from carcass played guitars on the b-side so i waited a few years (hey i'm slow) before checking carcass. finally i got this album the original mix too though it was on cd. but still. so i put it on. i'd been warned about the bad production before but it was still a surprise. i mean i love bad productions but at first this was a bit much for me. i came to love it though. a bit more death metal influenced than scum it's a bit though not all that slower and the songs seem longer. i won't comment on the lyrics cause the album title and cover (in fact when i bought this the dude at the counter was repulsed by it) says it all. this may have inspired the 21st century novelty cybergrind bands you see a lot do to kenn's vocals (distorted as fuck and creapy) and the mix. i mean on some of the song especially the ones with only one guitar track it's a bit hard to tell anything about the music. still this is damn good grind. gef on bass does most of the vocals and he's good he does his usual vocals. btw hey gef get into dr aids ya cunt! hahahahah. bill's vocals are a bit lower and really pack a punch. i've described kenn's already. holy fuck. 22 songs in just under a half an hour isn't a record (anal cunt can do 42) but this is one of those records you need! go get it! and hi to any members who comment (though no one will) also coming up bill's band disattack. that'll be a treat for ya. also if you want to send me promo stuff please contact me! i'm getting better at reviewing them quickly. hell misery addict i tryed to review it the same day but my internet lost the review. i also reviewed the jasta cd too. anyway pleas send me grind or crust or punk or metal or whatever the fuck.

misery addict the hate tape

well when i first heard misery addict were putting out a new tape i was thrilled. at the same time when i heard it would sound different i didn't know what to think. sure i like change but i fell in love with the not that fast but hard misery addict. so when i got these songs i didn't know what to expect. i'd heard some rough versions and they sounded faster. but nothing could prepare me for this. fast in your fucking face brittish hardcore. the drums pound. the bass throbs, the guitar is something out of this fucking world and the vocals. andrew really must have been pissed about something (maybe it was a day that he ran out of coffee haha) because he screaches and shreaks his way through these 5 songs like some kill animal. everything about this tape is awesome. so far it's the best release of 2011. it'll be out in september and if you don't get this you're a fucking idiot. one of the only bands i can get excited about. buy or die cunts!

the eat god punishes the eat 7 ep

well today i was thinking about what to post next and this came in to my mind. the second release by these punks from florida. not wuite as good as the first one but still pretty damn good. i wish the mix was louder especially on nut cop but what are ya gonna do? 5 enjoyable melodic punk rock songs. the second song has to be my least favorite eat song. it's okay but it never did much for me. after this they put out a 14 song tape which i must review as it's a classic and in the 90s they put out another 7 which is also very good. then the drummer died. this was reissued in that it's not the eat cd so get it! and don't worry more punk is coming up. i have a shitload of old records i need to review. i mean a shitload. anyway i'm out

night birds fresh kills vol. 1 cd
this is one of those new punk bands that get so much shit. you know the whole punk is dead thing and wile i do aggree i still enjoy new punk. and this cd is quite enjoyable. released a while back on grave mistake records (i've been really busy and couldn't get around to this when i wanted) this cd compiles everything by this band up to this point. and what great music it is! great melodic hc. sometimes like in bad biology they remind me of the freeze. and if you can remind me of the freeze i'd say you've done a good job. my favorites are the tracks from the midnight movies tape but the first 7 is great as well. and so is everything elce! great songs with interesting lyrics. and it's over so fast! i here they're putting out an lp. want! it's gotta be great. get this however you can. seriously dudes if you like melodic (not pop) punk you gotta have this. a short one today cause i don't want to ruin this for ya. bad bad bad bad biology!

zombie holocaust strike force cd

well i'm back with a new(ish) thrash album. saw these guys at thrasho last year. it took me this long to get the album but not because i didn't like them. no the reason is i was bombarded with death metal and mainstream stuff so this kinda slipped out of my mind. but now i got it. and what do we have? very good party thrash. municipal waste has kinda chilled a bit on the partying side. but not zh. hailing from northern california this band cranks out one slammer after another. yes i have a soft spot in my heart for thrash. and this is great! production is great which might be a downer for some (sometimes it is with me) but on the other hand you can hear everything even the bass. overall i really like this album. simple and raw. zombie holocaust are working on a new album and i'd love to get it when it comes out. get this if you like new thrash!

void potion for bad dreams unreleased lp

hello! do you remember me? i'm elliott and i write shit reviews that only i read! it seems like it's been a long time between reviews. in my deffence i went to the moto gp races. stoner won. anyway that's mostly why i haven't been reviewing stuff. anyway this is an unreleased lp by void. yes that void. the amazing hardcore void. i know what that sounds like. you're probably drewling with your pants down. well put your pants back on. i must warn you if you are a hardcore fan you might not want to read this. if you're open minded (like me) then read on brother! anyway void went down the path so many hardcore bands took in the mid-80s. metal. now this could go two ways. it could go really good or really bad. now unlike most unwashed hc fans i love metal. and i usually love when punk bands go metal (even dri i just love to piss off new dri fans by saying i hate the metal stuff) some of it (gang green ssd) takes a while to grow on me but it usually does. and what is this? this is some fuckin good metal. more in the classic metal vane (compared to dri) and i quite like it. the vocals are more growled now and it just works. it's sort of fast though not as fast as the demo and split. now for why it's unreleased. it was gonna be put out on touch and go in 84 but i guess that didn't work out. t&g still try to release it but the guitarest keeps blocking it. shouldn't be that hard to track down as i got it yesterday. surprisingly good sound too. get this if you're a metalhead. if you love the demo and split (which will be reviewed soon) and hate the thought of them sounding different than go home and cry. do it! btw elliott sucks will soon also be a podcast! as soon as i set up the email you'll be able to download the elliott sucks radio show. i don't know if it'll be posted on this blog (as i have no idea how to make links) but i'll direct you to where you can download it. it'll probably just be an audio version of this blog where i review records (probably stuff that's on the blog already though in more detale) and rant. enjoy when i post it!

a more metallic direction

well my punk collection has slowed a lot so i'll probably be reviewing more metal records. my metallic collection has just grown. so yeah unless some angel of the punk world comes down with an amazing 80s record (please) it's gonna be all metal.

pandamonium promo 2010 cd

well this should have gone on a lot sooner than it did. but i've had shit going on so it's late but better late than never. you see the great thing about blogging is that you get promos from bands asking you to review something and you get turned on (or sometimes off) to new music. in my case when godz ov war productions contacted me about reviewing a band called pandamonium i didn't know what to say except sure! i love hearing new bands. actually these guys have been going on for a while but still they were new to me. okay i said so what do we have here? i opened the package up (came all the way from poland which is cool) pretty great black death metal came out of the speakers. i was empressed from the start. great riffs, and a very nice sound. only 2 songs cause it's a promo for an album that will be dropping this fall. and man what an album that will be. especially with these two tracks on it. i like everything about the band. the vocals are great death growls that fit the album perfectly. you can tell these guys know what they're doing. can't say enough about this. get the album when iy comes out. it's a musthave for this year. suport em! and bands/labels if you want me to review anything get in touch with me at ellindamood@gmail.com. it doesn't usually take me as long as it did (i'm not even gonna say how long it took) so please send em over and please comment. that's what fuels this blog. coming up more old shit and some new. got some more known new releases as well as some um not so known. and soon i hope pandamonium will be a more known band

anal cunt 40 more reasons to hate us lp

this is more seth putnam love. streight up fucking grindcore. 42 tracks (that's right) of a mix of insults and sillyness. now you know how much i love seth and anal cunt and i will deffend him so no comments about him being racist. see? even the so-called non pc people get offended by this guy. that's why i like him so much. anyway most of the songs on here are short (except the cover of gloves of metal which is over 4 minutes long) abd too the fucking point. this is why i love grindcore. short fast and to the fucking point. anyway if you're offended by seth then leave a comment so i can make fun of you. oh and this has one of the greatest titles in music. everyone in the underground music scene is stupid. so true. anyway get this and love it! and fuck the pussys who can't take it

cryptic slaughter life in grave demo tape

i actually thought i'd posted this earlyer. now i always wondered why the band was called cryptic slaughter. i mean with albums called convicted and money talks why would they have a name like that? well now i know. no political lyrics or any of that shit. i mean the first song is called flesh of the wench. fuck yeah! anyway the music is amazingly fast crossover thrash. the kind municipal waste try to do but fail. i wonder is this more punk or more metal? i mean it's amazing. a perfect blend of punk and metal. the first album is just as amazing and i shal review it soon. get this now! oh this was reissued on the convicted reissu. but the sound on those rips are really bad. get this on a blog somewhere. and thrash til death!
bad influence war's no fun demo tape

ah yes. here's another little treat for you. it's a band out of san fransisco called bad influence. this is the only thing they put out in 1983 and i'm surprised about that. very good um i'm not sure if it's thrash but it's damn good hardcore with good lyrics. the intire demo was released on a 7 so get that cause it's amazing! and what a sound. sometimes demos are recorded at practices and they sound aweful. however i think the sound on here (which sounds kinda like the dorf demo) fits the music. it's raw and gritty and that's how it should be! get this however you can. and tell me what you think. that's why i don't go into everything and totally give everything away. i want you to make your own descisions about the music. so yeah do that!

unseen force in search of the truth lp

yes 3 posts in one day. this is unseen force's only lp released in 1986. and what a fantastic record is is. not thrash but mid-tempo hardcore of the finest kind. 12 greaqt songs. this was in that package i got from grave mistake records a fuck of a long time ago. yeah sorry about the long wait i've been busy. anyway this was reissued with demo tracks from a band a few of the guys were in called 2000 maniacs which i'll review later and a live over the radio set. very nice package get it! this may be a bit late in hardcore for some people but it's still very good and if you're gonna let the year stop you from enjoying this then you're a sad excuse for a human. get this and slam!
municipal waste waste em all lp

i have a big problem with this band. i like the music and listen to it but something stops me from loving this. i cant think of it oh yeah i know what it is. it's complete fucking unoriginal crossover thrash. i mean really unoriginal. now i enjoy cryptic slaughter and s.o.d but i'd never want to start a band that sounds just like them. well municipal waste don't share my view it seems. these guys are stuck in the 80s i think with all the other thrash revival bands. it's kind of sickening to tell you the truth. however if you want to mindlessly headbang (as i do sometimes) this is a musthave. very fast music with a great production. they would never really change up the sound on future albums (though the new one isn't quite as fast) but if you like mindless thrash get the 4 albums. oh and i can think of two things mw stole in the naming of the band and the album. first of all the name is a ripoff of chemical waste who i'll review in a future post. also waste em all is well yeah i don't have to tell you. it's still pretty fun music but just not very original. still get it if you like crossover. and fly on top of the world!
brats 1980 lp

well here's a little treat for ya. i first heard this band on a good bad blog (yeah sorry i'm not as cool as you guys) and thought i'd check it out. i learned that the guitarests later formed mercyful fate. at the time that was just a name to me (though it later became a near religious experience) but i figured i'd give it a shot. and what a record! punk metal at its best. a lot of the tracks are hard rock/heavy metal and just rock. but a few tracks are pretty damn punk. i later learned that they used to be a punk band and put out two singles (if anyone has them please give share!) and had some tracks on a comp of danish punk which are very simple yet very good. i love this album! the drums pound, you can hear the bass and it works well, the guitars just sound great and the vocals go great with this album. this was reissued so go fucking get it! and if anyone has more of this stuff please share. don't hold out on me!

i miss the old days. the days when hpr was the blog i most followed. the days when zach and i would talk about obscure pun and i felt good. the days when it took me forever to load a page. i discovered so many great bands in the last 3 years. it's sad that now hpr is pretty much dead and zach is i guess having a good time without the computer. if only i was that lucky. i'm still carying on though or trying too. maybe i need to stop living in the past. it's just that it was so fun for me. now i don't know. some good things are happening but i still miss the old days. review coming up i guess.

venom black metal lp

are you ready? but are you fucking ready? to get your ass kicked! this album will do just that. pure and raw fucking metal from a time when metal mattered. classic nwobhm that sounds nothing like any other nwobhm band. it's faster, heavyer, and the vocals are so much different from any other band of that period. the vocals are angry snarles that really leave you stunned. man that guy is pissed! and the lyrics. streight to the point satanism. ah if only they believed it then things would be really interesting. they were one of the bands on the pmrc's shitlist in the mid-80s and you can see why. evil venom singing songs about satan! we must protect our kids from the awesomeness! this is the band's 2nd album and probably the greatest one they did. i think it's one of the greatest albums of all time even if the name and lyrics did inspire a pretty stupid subgenre of heavy metal. get this how ever you can and neal before it's mighty power! hail satan!
