just another thought post
it's way too early in the morning and i've got my music on. but nothing's jumping at me so let's have another rant. it's funny that when this blog started i didn't think i'd do so many reviews. thank you zach. and to anyone who feels i was bragging on the last post first of all fuck off. second i wasn't bragging. i just meant to say hpr rocks and we've helped each other. i'm not saying anyone came up to me and said that and actually i was very careful about my words. anyway we come to the heart of this post if it has a heart. a great blog i follow said he won't post hardcore because basically it's done all over the net so why should he? first of all you could fix some of these links but anyway that's very interesting. i mean i've always run this blog with a policy of not caring what the other blogs do. wait that sounded way too dickheadish even for me. what i'm saying is if it's something i really like i'm reviewing it no matter how many blogs have it. it would be the same if i was posting mp3s. i know what he means though. over the weekend i had one of these why should i things. it's over now but i said the exact same thing. but then i realised something. what is a blog? it's like a fanzine if you ask me. at least for me. granted sometimes i don't write much and i'm really sorry for that and i know my spelling sucks. but really i just love the music. i love it so much that in december of last year i started putting dow what i think about music in the hopes that someone whuld share my demonic music love. that's all it is. i'm not some dude who was in a band 30 years ago. i'm not some dick who thinks everyone should listen to me and i'm not 7inchpunk.com. i'm a fan. that's all. just thought you'd like to read that. i don't know. there was going to be a third thing i was going to write but i forgot. review coming.

happy birthday hardcore punk reviews!
yes the amazing hardcore punk reviews is one year old. i haven't checked the blog to see if he's done anything on this because i just got home. anyway it was founded by some guy named zach in some country called canada. anyway his blog ran pretty good for like three months. then he stopped by the eslod (elliott sucks layer of death) and gave a link to his blog. one of the things that made me save his blog in my favorites was the way he just gave his opinion even if sometimes i'd wonder what was in the water over in canada. haha. anyway a few weeks (months?) passed before i discovered the internet archive. i also discovered zach had a lot of great records and thought it was a sin that he didn't have any downloads. not just for me but for everyone. anyway to make a long story long, i told him about it and now hpr is better then ever. i don't mean to brag or anything. the blog was already great. but i wanted to help make it better. and zach's done a lot for this blog. for one thing he's kepped it going by commenting. also i think if it wasn't for him i wouldn't have gotten the prized spot on the blogroll on gbm. so happy birthday hpr. hope you have many more. and thanks for the music! also if it wasn't for hpe i probably wouldn't be working on music. i'm writing songs for a second fucked up society demo. so let's summarise. hpr rules!

go! there is no man 7 ep
this band probably was around too late for some people and that is a shame cause this band put out some great no bullshit hardcore punk. the last track fear of a gay plannet is actually pretty self explanitory. it's making mun of public enimy for being homophobes. interesting. the other songs are well just awesome. not too much to say. get this at mustard relics. and look for a reissue or something. not sure if it's been reissued. i don't really pay attention to everything coming out. on an unrelated topic erich once asked in a comment on his site good bad music something like if people reissue a record with the original booklet and everything why would someone want an original? personally i think it's good. i mean i don't have the money to get the original cause you fucking egay assholes charge so goddamn much for a record with two fucking songs on it because all you can think about is cashing in. i don't like those people. that's why for the longest time i never went on ebay. anyway i support reissues with everything from the original. when i buy a record i want to have it the way someone had it 30 years ago without having to sell my brain to science (not that they'd take it) to pay for a record. ranting done. get this 7 somehow. or don't. i don't really care.
IQ 55 livet ar en bluff 7
well summer is almost over for me and as usuall i have become a damn hermet for the past 2 months at least as far as i haven't had the chance to hang out with anyone unless you count my music. kind of wish i could replay this summer over and do a few things different. oh well. one of my current favs at the moment is IQ 55. the singer is in my list of best voices (how many is that) he really does have a great voice. the first track livet ar en bluff (life is a joke) is um punk? well yeah. i actually read the english version of the lyrics. depressing as fuck. second song is great as well. i really don't want to describe this because i can't. how do you describe perfection? i also have like three demos by them. they were always great. a question for all the guys reading this who know about this this band. that tape from 83. is that the same singer? he sounds a little different. maybe it's just me. still great though. get it at kbd records. but before that comment on this or any other of my 276 posts and tell me how much you love me! if you don't i'll quit blogging. hahah.
jill kossoris invisible cd
okay so here's the thing. i got the problem fixed two days ago. i really wanted to post but just couldn't. i lack the motivation that i need to formulate my thoughts about a record. what that means is i was out of coffee and didn't want to sleep. so last night i went out to the speedway motorcycle races and that restored me to what passes for motivated. actually unlike most times there was no search for what record i was gonna review. for those of you who don't know (shame on you) jill kossoris was the vocalest for one of the best powerpop bands ever. the shivvers. i posted a lot about them and i heard that 20+years later she did a solo album. finally i got off my ass and bought this. what can i say? this actually took some time for me to embrace it. it's different from anything i have in my collection. you can still hear the powerpop but now she includes country and some others. good thing is she still has that voice. a little older but not bad. not bad at all. i find a lot of these songs get stuck in my head even if i don't always agree with the lyrics (i'm a punk who likes gg allin what do you expect?) still if you like the shivvers and don't mind something a little different get this. if you just want hardcore don't worry. i'll give you hardcore. and pretty soon it's happy birthday for hardcore punk reviews. special post for that too.

the throwaways/spastic panther split 7
okay i'm just about out of stuff to review so i thought i'd do this. sometimes i don't like the idea of reviewing something that was just posted on a blog but now i don't really care. what's up with canada? they just keep turning out great bands. especially new bands. both these bands are are from canada. that's why i wrote that. anyway on to the review. first up is the throwaways. what can i say? fantastic! just fantastic powerpop (and yes zach it is powerpop) with amazing female vocals. i have to say if i was gonna start a powerpop band (which i'm not against doing) i would probably have a girl on vocals. i just think it works. these girls (and guy) have 4 great songs that really leave me wanting more. a lot more! spastic panther are very good but to be honest i'm not in the mood for much hardcore right now. it's because i'm outside and it's really hot and nice. that's where the throwaways come in. maybe when i have to go back to school i'll get into spastic panther. great band name though. i have a cat that looks like a panther and another cat who's spastic as hell. so combine them and you have a spastic panther. i really think these guys are a joke though. that's not an insult. i like it but really not in the mood. get it however you can. and if a member of the throwaways reads this (which you won't be) maybe you can fill in who's in the band and where people can get this which they should. and please put out more stuff!
amebix redux 12 ep
yep. amebix are back. if you don't know amebix then i hate you. haha not really. anyway 3 songs previously released but they've been rerecorded. normally i wouldn't care but this is the first thing they've recorded in over 20 years. and they haven't lost anything. this is great! not as good as arise! but still good. better mixing but i actually like the mix on arise! more. very metallic sounding still. the only thing it at least to me the vocalest used to sound like the dude from venom. i mean i wonder if they were the same person. now he still has that gravelly style of singing but he doesn't sound so much like venom anymore. get this however you can. should be very easy as it's on cd download and vinyl. oh one more thing. this is a message to everyone who includes a download card in the vinyl. don't. i bought the vinyl because i wanted to rip it from my turntable because it sounds better that way. yes i want an mp3 version of it. thank you for realising that. but i can do it myself thank you. i have like 50 download cards that i never used. they're probably expired (can they expire? if they can't come get em) anyway um get this ep.
art in war demo cdr
i told the guys from this band i'd feature them on this blog. in like march. fuck! i'm lazy. anyway my computer fucking crashed. all music i had is gone. until i get this figured out (or maybe just throw shit out the window) every review is something i was gonna post anyway. now on to the music. art in war is not for the metal purests. it sounds like nu-metal. not like level. you remember that right? no this is very good. also it has some very good reggae parts. i'm not really into reggae unless i'm high but this is very good. i don't know how you can get this. can't find fucking anything on the web about this band but i know they exist. but try to get it. it's a very short demo. 3 songs of awesomeness. and before i forget i couldn't do it yesterday but happy late birthday gg allin. you would have been 54. r.i.p.

hatebreed under the knife 7 ep
well i'm doing 15 posts today because the dude from mad blasts of chaos had 10 (although i don't know when he started them) and i thought if he could do 10 with links and shit i could do 15. and thank you for putting an lp up using direct links. i don't know what made you do it or if you just forgot but thank you so much. anyway this post is for him though i don't know if he reads this. anyway he said he liked hatebreed so i pulled out the first ep by these guys. great old metalcore (which is basically metallic hardcore) great stuff. i may be the only one who likes this shit who reads this blog but i don't really care. later on hatebreed went to "bad metal" but i like the bad metal. although having a song like kill an adict is unexceptible. sorry. great song but yeah. i also have a demo by these guys. this was reissued along with the demo on the under the knife cd. get that if you can't get the original. but if you can then...well do that. 14 posts to go.

grudge project x 7 ep
well i was struck by a sudden inspiration to post and this felt so right. grudge were like crucial youth and took the piss out of streight-edge gay crew bands like crippled youth (and that 7 is actually really good i take it back) anyway this is less witty than crucial youth but it really does sound like one of my bands if i were to do something like this. this band shouldn't be taken as a novelty act though because they really rip shit up with 8 songs and a few spoken parts that are just great. the last track o.c. crew is just perfect. i wish there were more bands like this. as much as i like some of those streight-edge bands as i once said "everything needs to be made fun of once." it's still very true today if you ask me. get this from mustard relics and as always look for a hardcoppy. come on you greedy cunts. enjoy this one and remember that "we want you for the o.c crew!"

demon hunter storm the gates of hell cd
i know what your thinking. what? elliott is posting a review for a christian metal band! he's lost it! first of all i never really had it. second even though i'm very far from a christian i really enjoy this one. yes it's metalcore. big deal. people don't like metalcore and i can kind of understand. but when did i post something because the people would like it? i'm posting this because well i'm really not sure why. this is actually very good metalcore with good heavy parts and good melodic parts. the lyrics are worse than crippled youth though. like i said i'm not even near christian and would rather listen to venom satanic lyrics than this but the music is very fucking good. so domon hunter you're lucky you perform well. check this out if you like metalcore. if you don't than well whatever. and thanks to the dude from the modernettes for commenting. that was just cool. i respect everyone who leaves comments on blogs. i just think it's funny cause i said that noone from the band would find this blog and the next day i woke up and checked my comments i need to publish and there it was. so let's summerise. bla bla demon hunter is cool but has stupid lyrics bla bla bla modernettes rule!
the modernettes teen city 12 ep
well zach i guess is taking a little break as i did (if he's not than fuck off) and as liliput said "when the zach's away the elliott will play." okay he's not really gone but i just wanted to put that. what we have hear is another band from canada the modernettes with a fucking killer 12 ep. every song is just great powerpop punk i guess you'd call it. i guess the band didn't want to be big. trust me they could have been. i heard a story about some big record label dipshit coming to a show and i guess he was freaked out cause those guys were smoking and drinking onstage and just acting like well acting like stupid teens. love it. i just checked and they is a comp cd of all the band's material. get it. and it was produced by the same guy who fucked up metallica. actually i like new metallica but fuck it's just not the same. he does a good job on this one though. get it somewhere. and one of the guys has a book out that you should get. not sure what the title is right now but if you look a little you can find it. i think the dude's name is john armstrong but he goes by something else on the record. if you're reading this and you were in this band (which you won't be) fill us in.

anti-cimex scandinavian jawbreaker lp
goddamn this is hard! like every fucking band in the world these guys went metal. or maybe just thicker crust. sounds like motorhead or amebix at times but that's not bad. lyrics are in english for some reason. this band always had something from the first ep to this one. cimex always had power. some people don't like this and i can kind of understand. if you don't like cimex from raped ass on or crust or metal you aren't gonna die when you hear this. but i think i did. still has d-beats and that's awesome but a lot of songs aren't as frantic as on older records. still a great record. get this if you want fucking powerful metal.
the bayonets stuck in this rut 7
at first i thought this was powerpop but now i'm not so sure. doesn't mean shit though as it's a great record. these guys and girl/girls i don't know come from toronto ontario canada. i actually know where that is. they have an indycar race every year. anyway what really stans out are the vocals. i don't know how she does it but her voice is perfect for this band. she doesn't sound pissed or anything but well it's amazing. if the singer for the bayonets is reading this (which she isn't) great fucking job! and if anyone is reading this head over to hpr for this one. except for zach who already has it. oh and i apollogize to both justin (well depending on how he took the joke) of mustard relics and zach of hardcore punk reviews. i was just making a little joke about how i always say what a great site mustard relics is and how cool justin is. just read the ill repute post. anyway hopefully zach comes back. okay enough nice shit. get this one or die!
ill repute demo
sometimes i feel bad that i review shit i find on the net. other times i just feel i'm reviewing something i really like. this is one of those reviews. do you know who ill repute are? no? shame. actually probably everyone knows about this band. these demos are something i've heard but never heard of. great nardcore. that's oxnard hardcore for you people not cool enough to know that. i've been up by oxnard and i can't remember what i did or why i was even in oxnard. that shows you either how borring oxnard is or how stupid i am. a lot if not all of these track are on other releases but now you get them in a rawer (more raw) format. i really like the sound these guys have. is it me or does nardcore have a skating thing going on. not jfa but still great. even though i don't skate i still love skatecore. makes me want to fuck shit up outside. anyway you can find this at soulseak (whatever that is) i think. i got it from some blog called mustard relics. don't think i've ever mentioned that blog before. yeah and the admin is really rude. he's almost as bad as zach! hahahahahaha sorry couldn't resist. enjoy this.

comments
well it turns out i have 167 comments by 9 people. thanks to zach, justin, brian, ed, jimbob, mat, eric, ononymous, and erich. but huge thanks to zach who leaves the most out of all the dudes on this blog but hell i'm just glad someone found this place out. and remember if you read this and don't comment your death will be slow and horible. if you do comment you will have a quick and paneless death. except for zach. he still gets the slow horible death. why? because i'm an asshole! anyway keep on reading and commenting.

live shows
i'm posting but i'm still on break. at the elliott sucks layer of death (my room) all is quiet. a dog is sleeping on the floor having taken my bedsheet with it. and i'm really really really borred. now the question comes up. why don't i sleep? two reasons. the dog (a rather new one) is silent right now and i love it so much. pluss in about 20 minutes the moto gp race will start and i hate tevo so yeah fuck that. and the vacation i had planned well just didn't happen so for now i am confined to the house. anyway why do i go to see live shows? for the feeling? the music? or just seeing some other kids that are kind of likeminded once you get passed the racing thing. no. it's the fuckups. and also the music but a live show without missing notes or not remembering a song and just either mumbling through or just fucking shit up (fuckshitupism as someone once said) that's why no band will probably never play with me onstage. i am anything but a perfectionest and the best shows i've seen honestly was when the band couldn't play but still tried. that's also why i don't rerecord things. i put it down once unless i want to change something dramaticly in the song. otherwise you get it the first time through no matter what it sounds like. so anyway if your a band embrace the fuckups and don't be a perfectionest twat like some assholes. oh cool i've killed some time. see you all later. actually i may post again just to keep myself awake. i'm sure later on today i'll see this post as i offin do with my posts and say what the fuck was i thinking? i'm pretty sure i didn't write most of these posts. they were actually put down by some drunk dude from norway. or maybe an even more drunk and probably insane person from sunland. oh shit i just outed myself. fuck. okay i'm really tired of writing nothing. see you.

taking a break
well i'm kind of on break. i just don't feel like posting music reviews right now. thinking of starting a new blog that deals with racing. plus as someone (and you know who you are) said i'm lazy. if you want my writing but ya know better go to hardcore punk reviews. except that guy doesn't say fua or shit as much as i do hahaha. anyway i'll be back later. oh and one more thing. you know what i hate? people who hang out with snobbish assholes with a lot of money and they start acting like they're all amazing and shit. fuckin scumbags.
Friday, August 6, 2010
alright alright i'll post
well it's time i get off my ass and post. here at the elliott sucks layer of death (you come up with a better one) it's really quiet. i mean really fucking quiet. is it always this quiet? oh right it is. oh well. review coming.

contramundi s/t cd
okay i had this for fucking ever but didn't know who these guys (and girl) were. finally found the band name and then i found out that they're from south africa. interesting. i think they broke up cause last i heard the drummer was going to france. sucks but what are ya gonna do? kind of melodic but really good peace punk. if you like that kind of thing go to archive.org and get it. if you don't then shut up. simple. the female vocals really add something to this album. check it out. i really don't want to give too much away. if you don't at lest check it out i don't like you and um i guess that's it. just do it.
metallica master of puppets lp
the first time i heard metallica was when i was 8 years old and i bought a nascar comp. don't ask. the first track was an outtake from i believe load or maybe reload and it sent shivers down my young spine. it was amazing to me at least. then i found out it wasn't cool to like new metallica. know what? i didn't fucking care. metalheads piss me off sometimes. not all of them but some. i'd rather hang out with punks and listen to metal only with my metal friends you are actually smart metalheads if you can call them metalheads. anyway i think i bought this album when i was like 12 and it was the fastest shit i'd heard. now i still think it's a great album but not thrash. no not even close. well maybe prog thrash. i mean the first track battery is nothing but a kickass power metal song in thrash makeup. if you ask me they never topped no life til leather or the hit the lights track on the oh what's it called comp. any help? i mean kill em all is great but not that great. ride the lightning is great too but kill is better. i do like all metallica albums (yes even st. anger now fuck off) but the demo's where the shit's at. but do get this album. it's really good. but don't think of it as a thrash album. i never got that. i mean most of the tracks aren't even fast. one thing i hate about this album is how damn long the songs are. please cut the songs in half and drop that instramental. anyway get this now.

the radiators from space enimys 7
a great irish band that doesn't sound irish at all. one of things that sets this band apart from most other punk bands is this band has a great singer. i mean just listen to him. backing vocals are great too. first track is one of my favorites of the punk genre (i mean pure punk) second track is good but well it's not enimys. nothing can be enimys. if you're in a band and even think of trying to make a song better than this don't. give up and do something else with your life. hpr has it. don't know how anyone can get this. hey zach how did you get this? enjoy
v/a behind the redwood curtain 7 ep comp
you know i have a feeling that blogs like this are the new version of the fanzine. 30 years from now i'm gonna put out a book of all thse posts. i know one person who'd buy a coppy. no not my parents stupid! well i just had to post something because soon zach is gonna catch up and we can't have that. just a little comp i got at mustard relics. oh this is all humboldt bands. underhand are good but a little on the pop punk side which is still okay i guess. one man running and grout rip shit up. i'm sorry if i'm not doing this in order. oh well it's my blog. couch is okay. worth a download.

apes of wrath s/t flexi
well some people have been on me ass (that's not a typo) about posting something new so to shut these people up i'll post just so they'll get off my back. haha just joking. anyway i found this at mustard relics which everyone should go to. very good um not hardcore but melodic punk from germany. this is an all girl band i guess. 7inchpunk also has it but unless you must go to that site get it somewhere else. i'm sure i'll never get a link from him but he's a fucking cunt. anyway this rocks. not too much to tell. the music kind of speaks for itself. enjoy and yes i'll post again.
Monday, July 26, 2010
yeah yeah
well i wanted to review something but couldn't think of anything. then i wanted to update you on the race weekend when i found out i got internet but i couldn't because the internet conection sucked. just a quick update. more later.

anal buffet cho's my bro cd
gonna give you some posts tonight because tomorrow i'm heading up north for some motorcycle racing. anyway this is one of the most anoying bands to research and i think you know why. a lot of porn comes up. very much an anal cunt clone band. pretty good but ac are better. still this is good and funny. if you don't know the anal cunt style (well the later anal cunt style) is all about insults. these guys attack everyone and everything. that's kind of what i like about these guys. not even that. it's the way thse bands infuriate people. can you not tell it's a joke? it's like that one band in the you weren't there movie. zach knows what i'm talking about. anyway raw grindcore. get this in a number of ways. don't really know else to say about this band.

school jerks demo
well here's a not so new discovery that i thought i'd pass on to you. i think this is the demo. oh and before i start sorry to zach about the mentally ill post. i was just reporting what i found out. no hard feelings dude. please don't stop coming back. anyway school jerks are a band out of canada and they just rip shit up. the singer reminds me of darby crash. they've put out two 7s as far as i know. i don't know ask them for one. they aren't too fast but really good just like the germs. don't know where you can get this but i want a hardcoppy. come on anyone? i've got a lot of organs. haha. no but get this any way you can. school jerks rule!

i hate this trimming the fat 7 ep
finally after 5 minutes of just sitting here this came up. great ney female fronted hc. even some blast beats which you know i love. what i really love is people who just do it without caring what it's called or if it exists. only problem is i can't. oh well more practice. this release is a compilation of songs from two splits they did. and what a great name. get it. is it still in print? oh well. oh this is the 250th post. i've been crankin these out like fuckin...things that crank things out. enjoy this record.
sand in the face s/t lp
this should get rid of one. sitf were a hc band from um i don't know. i really like this one. the band went the skrewdriver way if you know what i mean. i like the production on this one. someone called it arty. what? no art just fuckin punk. they had a couple tracks on the master tape II (did you like that one) double lp but i've never heard them. get this at last days. coming next the 250th post. who cares? to be honest probably noone.
ratos de poráo crucificados pelo sistema lp
i've been wanting to do this for a couple months. rdp were a hardcore band from brazil who later (like all the hc bands) went crossover. they actually rerecorded this in 2000 or so. the rerecording is okay but i think if this wasn't the first time i heard these songs i'd like the rerecording a little more. you know what i mean? i fuckin love this lp. great thrash. only problem is the guitars should stand out more. mustard relics has it. the only thing i know about this band is that they were like the first political band in brazil and i guess the singer said that rdp plays hardcore not punk. weird. anyway get this amazing ass record. i mean it's a must-have for any hardcore fan's collection. anyway it's almost the 250th post.

the offenders i hate myself/bad times 7
this record is just amazing. great guitar sound on this one. i hate myself is is a punk rock anthem with great lyrics and a great fucking sound. bad times isn't as good but still pretty damn good. mustard relics has it. he didn't write anything and that sucks. i love his writing. get this fucker if it's been reissued.
virus dark ages 12 ep
i had dark ages on heavy rotation for months but didn't know who the song was by or what record it was on. honestly i was surprised. when i think of new york hardcore i think of agnostic front and urban waste not this. and the singer has a cool accent but i didn't think it was from new york. this was the last release on the ratcage label in 1984. great fast and slow hc. last days has it. this is an amazing record so go get it. now.
egg hunt s/t 7
this is the project of ian and jeff of minor threat in 86? when they went to england. a serten smartass blogger thought i'd hate it. actually i thought i would too when i heard the description of this and i'm more of a smartass than he is. but i really like it. the first song me and you is good but not to interesting. good music but it's kind of like a big intro. we all fall down is quite good though. i'm not sure of the pressing info but i'd like to have it someday along with every record on my list. i guess ian and jeff really liked it and wanted to start it again when they got back to d.c but ian was concentrating on fugazi and nothing came of it. oh well get this fucker at hpr.
minor threat s/t 7 ep
10 months ago it was the first review on hpr and it's elliott's time to try. i loved this record but it just went away for me because i had discovered many other records and this one just well yeah. i still like it well i really like it but i don't love it. short fast and loud. wooo! only problem is that one song streight-edge. not the lyrical content although i do disagree but what it enspired. you all know what i mean. get this in a number of ways. it's been released along with the 2nd 7 on a 12 and it's been put on cd. don't know what i can say other than get it.

Mob 47 - Kärnvapen Attack (1984)
well here's a classic for you all to blindly consume. it's mob 47 with some amazing hc thrash. i actually heard protes bengt t3e little side project they had and you can tell it's the same band at lest it's the same mix with two guitars this time. damn that guitarest is amazing. vocals are great. i actually liked the guy on the protes bengt a little more but this guy grew on me. a little slower than p b but still fucking amazing and you must get this. i think it was reissued so get that but hpr (you know elliott sucks but better) has it. oh yeah and metal is not gay!
Wijlen Wij - Wijlen Wij (2007)
okay enough fast shit. time to slow it down. come to think of it this say be a little too slow. i mean a lot too slow. this is the only funeral doom metal album i have. funeral doom is well slow as fuck. i mean really fucking slow. not for everyday listening as it is really hard to get into but it can be done. let me give you an example of how slow it is. i was reading a review in mrr (look it up) on a sludge metal album and they said it stays in first gear. if that's first gear than this is reverse. but it's amazing. the first track is a very long intro that is just perfect. the music is well let me try. slow ass music, downtooned guitars, low whispery growls, and i think i heard a 27 minute song somewhere. they all kind of blend together to create this feeling of total emptyness. i don't know a lot about this genre but from what i've heard this band is some kind of supergroup. 6 song in 72 minutes. get it though if you want to see what i'm talking about. i mean it's not something you'll have on your cd player or mp3 player all the time but trust me. when the time comes you'll come back to it.

thoughts on ripping vinyl
i do rip uinyl but for a few reasons i cannot put it on my blog. that doesn't mean i don't go to other mp3 blogs. i've learned some things from them and i'd like to pass on some words on what you should and shouldn't do when posting mp3s. first please make them of good quality. that means it better sound like it does if i were to put on the vinyl at home. i'm speaking of corse of 7inch punk.com which i don't know why i bother as the site never posts new shit. some of the rips on 7inchpunk aren't bad and i'm glad i've found those mp3s. but some are just horible. like oh i don't know maybe all that shit that he got from a fucking tape. also unless it's a partnership don't just let any old guy post mp3s at least checak if they're good quality and if they're not reject the fucking post. fuck man it's not fucking rocket science. second don't post what you don't physicly own unless it's really fucking rare and you can't find that site anymore or for other good reasons but if it's just to post shit and say it's from your collection well just don't. if you want to post something you don't own for fucks sake tell us where you got it from. and just a little note. i'm not stealing this from erich's final conflict post. these are what i really believe. also another jab at 7inchpunk please don't remove files unless you're going to repost them or some guy asks you too. but if you must remove files please don't mislead people and take down the dead links. let's see what else. oh this is a big one. if you decide to do an mp3 blog please please please look into other options than mediafire or any of that shit. i get it. not everyone is like erich or peter. but what about archive.org? sure the argument can be made well peomle can take your rips from that site and post them on whatever blog they have or whatever. here's a fast solution. title the upload in some obscure thing that noone would guess. for example if i was going to rip and upload the germs album. it would ask me for a title and might put germsgilp. who the fuck is going to find that especially with how anal the search thing is. that's all i can think of. head over to gbm and the final conflict post for a much smarter take on what i said

violent children s/t 7 ep
great hc from when hc mattered. one of these guys wound up in youth of today a band which i kind of like in small doses. this is good metal free hardcore punk. some people complain about the guitar solos (guitar wanking you know) but honestly it's not that bad. not too much i can say. find it at your favorite site/store. i'm not sure if it's been reissued but if it has get it. that's all i can really say.
dorf demo
well after i said i'd post a lot of metal i'm back with a hardcore review. that proves how unscripted this is. anyway dorf were one of those humboldt california bands (great weed in those parts) that could compete with the best known hardcore bands. hell i'd much rather listen to this than damaged by black flag. i like that album slightly more than zach of hpr who fucking torched that album along with the first rf7 7 (i got an original i'd be happy to give up. only problem is someone didn't take care of it and it's fucked up) anyway this is fucking hc at it's best. when justin of mustard relics posted that i think i said it was good and that it. well i got a chance to listen again today. fuck me it's awesome. the guitar sound reminds me of that f.y.p 7 i reviewed back in march. good shit. get it or die! coming up? hmm i'm guessing another review maybe some more rants and some more of me saying if you read this comment. oh yeah and donate. not money but donate your music to get reviewed. you can find ne at my email which is all over this thing. do it now!

mayhem de mysteriis dom sathanas lp
zach's away for a week so it's the week that metal rules the blog! fuck that punk shit let's burn churches! wooooo! mayhem's first album and a fucking classic. i don't care what people say black metal sounds like now i love early 90s black metal. so here's a little backstory. if you want more on this be a man and look it up you bastards. anyway dead killed himself in 1991 so they needed a singer. they got some guy from hungery named attilla who played in one of the countless tormenters to fill in. necrobutcher (kickass name!) left the band so varg vikernes (i'm adding a fuck varg vikernes label just because) filled in on bass. vikernes is the man behind the one man band burzum so one could say burzum played bass hahaha. so that left hellhammer (another cool name) on drums and euronymous on guitar. i know about the band's nazi beliefs i just don't fucking care anymore. it's hard to care about that shit. not about them being nazis that's a horible thing but to obsess over that. it's like i said in that agnostic front post i hate people who are like that. i don't let anything stop me from liking music. but if i could i'd punch all of them in the fucking face. anyway varg killed euronymous in 1993 and yeah. i'm sure i'd talk more about that if it was fresh in my mind but i found this out about two-three years ago. what's interesting is that euronymous' parents asked hellhammer to remove varg's bass tracks from the album but he didn't. he says he turned them down but i think he was high and hit the up knob because unlike most metal where the bass is fucking nowhere to be seen (or heard i guess) his bass is right with the other guys. anyway i've wrote this much and i haven't even gotten to the music. first off the production. not as fuzzy as i like but still cold and dark. everything is mixed perfectly. don't know what more to say about that. music. hellhammer's drumming is amazing on this record. no triggered shit just raw black metal. varg plays the bass well but that's about it. great bass sound though. euronymous' guitar playing is great. thrash riffs with cool black parts and cool solos. finally we come to attilla. people have ragged on his vocals a lot. i think his voicce is just fucking perfect. i'm not even gonna describe it because every time i try i fail. just get this fucking album right now. i'm not touching on the whole historical thing but that's just bullshit. i don't care how historical it is. get this now! coming next? who the fuck knows. i don't.
just another update.
i'm thinking about recording another fucked up society demo. don't know why i'm telling you. i just took this test to see if you cuss a lot in your blog. that shit musd be fucking broken because it says i don't. fuck no i don't fucking cuss in my fucking blog. hahahahahahhah. see ya. review coming.

black flag six pack 12 ep
this is a good record but not great. never liked dez's voice then henry came and tried to sound like dez. my favorite on this record is the title track. it's not that great but if you black flag you'll like this. only three songs. could have fit on a 7 ep i think. oh well. i actually like damaged even though it is a bit anoying sometimes. this is slightly better than damaged. don't you think it's funny how damaged was made for one guitarest but they used two and the later black flag (which i like) is made for two guitarests but they only had one? anyway get this from somewhere. not that much to say about this.
the scrounngers!
i'm not even gonna describe this band. one of the best bands from the 90s. i want everything they put out! check it the fuck out or get the fuck out.
level s/t cd
god this sucks. just a bunch of wankers wanting to capitalise on the nu metal-rapcore thing. don't get me wrong i do like some nu metal but this sounds like some idiot band triing to make it big. it's not even the music that pisses me off so much. it's the fucking winy ass singer. i really can't describe it. sounds like a rapper/hip hop guy wanting to do nu metal vocs. he doesn't even sound like he's triing to be extreme or anything just like a wanker. there doesn't seem to be any web presents for this band so this album (put out in 2003) was a fucking flop as it should be. once you've heard the first track you've heard the whole album. boring as fuck. i hope these guys realise how much they suck and cry themselves to sleep cause they just are so fucking bad it's scary. but you have to give them some credit. never before have i heard a heavy record that made me want to kill and not in that cool oh this is so good and powerful way. this made me want to shut these guy up any way i could. so if you're in this band and your reading this i hate you. another thing. i do like some nu metal and i was just waiting for the songs to build into something. they never did. thanks. 30+ minutes of my life i'll never get back. anyway don't get this even as a download.
bruce banner i love fucked up noise 7 ep
ah yes the sound of hardcore in the morning. ah what a good sound. this was put out in 2000? i think. anyway this features the singer of protes bengt and filthy christians. pretty amazing guy. i didn't think it was him at first but that's only because i have yet to hear any filthy christians and the only thing i have to go by is the amazing protes bengt ep. the other guys are good too. i like all the samples. get this from somewhere. is this still in print? coming up my first (well i don't know if it's the first) bad review! want a taste? well fuck off cause you'll have to wait.

sea of shit 2009 demo
who said hardcore was dead? well everyone but anyway this is some great hc thrash. don't know shit about this band other then they rule. kind of metallic but maybe it's the downtooned guitars and the blast beats. get this from to live a lie records netlabel branch. if i was ever gonna release something it would be on that label and maybe the netlabel. speaking of which i want to start a netlabel with someone. a netlabel is a website where people send shit in and if we like it we would put it up for free somewhere. anyone interested? get this rager of a demo now! trust me you'll like it.
